The posting

We are seeking a Delegated Authority Business Analyst to support the implementation, onboarding, and ongoing success of customers using our delegated authority application.

This role will act as a key interface between customers and our product and technology teams, working directly with insurers, MGAs, MGUs, coverholders, and other delegated authority stakeholders to understand their business processes, translate requirements into application configurations, and ensure successful customer onboarding.

The successful candidate will combine a strong understanding of delegated authority insurance processes with excellent business analysis, customer engagement, and problem-solving skills. They will take ownership of customer requirements from discovery through configuration, testing, implementation, and transition to ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Discovery & Requirements

  • Lead customer workshops to understand delegated authority business processes, operating models, workflows, and pain points.
  • Gather, document, validate, and prioritize functional and business requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into clear application and configuration requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to align customer processes with application capabilities and leading practices rather than simply replicating existing processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them make practical decisions regarding workflow, data, controls, and application design.

Customer Onboarding & Implementation

  • Own the business analysis workstream for new customer onboarding from initial discovery through go-live.
  • Develop a clear understanding of each customer's operating model, organizational structure, delegated authority arrangements, users, data, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate customer onboarding activities and dependencies across customer, product, technology, and implementation teams.
  • Support onboarding planning, including requirements, configuration, data readiness, testing, training, and go-live preparation.
  • Proactively identify implementation risks, gaps, and decisions requiring customer or internal attention.
  • Help ensure customers are prepared to successfully adopt the application at launch.

Application Configuration & Customization

Work closely with Product Management and engineering teams to:

  • Translate approved business requirements into application configurations and customer-specific solutions.
  • Configure workflows, business rules, data structures, user roles, permissions, notifications, reporting requirements, and other configurable application components.
  • Assess requests for customization and distinguish between configuration, product enhancement, integration, and genuinely customer-specific development.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams where requirements extend beyond existing application capabilities.
  • Maintain documentation of customer-specific configurations and key implementation decisions.
  • Ensure customization decisions consider scalability, maintainability, and the broader product roadmap.

Delegated Authority Subject Matter Expertise

  • Apply delegated authority knowledge to customer requirements and application design.
  • Understand key processes associated with delegated authority business, including onboarding, due diligence, authority management, compliance, bordereaux/data management, oversight, performance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Understand the relationships between carriers, MGAs/MGUs, brokers, coverholders, TPAs, and other participants within the delegated authority ecosystem.
  • Help customers translate operational and regulatory requirements into practical application workflows and controls.
  • Contribute delegated authority expertise to the continued development of product capabilities.

Testing & Go-Live

  • Develop business scenarios, acceptance criteria, and test cases based on customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Validate that configured solutions meet documented business requirements prior to release.
  • Manage issues identified during testing, working with internal teams and customers to drive resolution.
  • Support customer training, go-live readiness, and implementation activities.
  • Provide heightened support during the initial post-launch period to encourage successful adoption.

Customer & Internal Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a primary functional point of contact for customers throughout implementation.
  • Build strong relationships with customer business, operations, compliance, technology, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex requirements and technical concepts in clear business language.
  • Manage customer expectations regarding application capabilities, configuration options, timelines, and product enhancements.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Implementation, Customer Success, and Support teams.
  • Capture lessons learned and customer feedback to continuously improve the onboarding process and product.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Implementation Consultant, Product Consultant, or similar customer-facing role within insurance or insurance technology.
  • Strong knowledge of delegated authority insurance, ideally working with carriers, MGAs/MGUs, coverholders, program administrators, or related organizations.
  • Experience leading customer requirements and process-discovery sessions.
  • Experience translating business requirements into application configuration or functional specifications.
  • Strong process mapping, requirements documentation, and business analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting application implementation, UAT, and go-live activities.
  • Ability to understand business processes, data requirements, workflows, and system interactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to facilitate customer meetings and workshops.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work effectively with both business and technical audiences.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple customer requirements, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mindset and practical problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with delegated authority management, bordereaux, program administration, or insurance distribution technology.
  • Understanding of delegated authority compliance, due diligence, audit, and oversight processes.
  • Experience working within the MGA/MGU, carrier, wholesale, or specialty insurance markets.
  • Experience with configurable SaaS applications and implementation methodologies.
  • Experience working with APIs, data integrations, data mapping, or reporting solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile product development.
  • Experience contributing customer requirements and feedback to a product roadmap.

What Success Looks Like

Within this role, success means:

  • Customers experience a structured, well-managed onboarding process.
  • Customer requirements are understood before configuration or development begins.
  • The application is configured to meet customer needs while minimizing unnecessary customization.
  • Customers understand how the application supports their delegated authority operating model.
  • Issues and requirements are clearly communicated between customers, Product, and Technology.
  • Implementations progress efficiently from discovery through UAT and go-live.
  • Customer feedback generates actionable insights that improve both the product and future implementations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
