The posting

Role Summary:

Lead engineering execution and technical direction for DDN EXAScaler data services spanning S3 object access, NAS services, and managed Lustre offerings in public cloud environments. The role blends storage systems leadership, cloud service delivery, product quality, operational excellence, and customer escalation ownership for business-critical enterprise and AI/HPC deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Leadership

• Lead geographically distributed engineering and quality teams across the US, India, and other locations as needed.

• Own delivery planning, execution discipline, engineering metrics, and predictable release outcomes.

• Coach senior engineers and technical leads; support hiring, onboarding, performance development, and succession planning.

• Establish a high-ownership culture focused on technical depth, accountability, quality, and customer impact.

Technical & Product Execution

• Drive architecture and execution for S3DS, NSDS, and managed Lustre service capabilities within the EXAScaler portfolio.

• Partner with Product Management to translate roadmap priorities into engineering plans, acceptance criteria, and measurable deliverables.

• Guide design decisions across distributed storage, metadata, protocol services, API layers, availability, scalability, and serviceability.

• Balance new feature development with maintainability, performance, reliability, and lifecycle management.

Cloud Operations, Reliability & Supportability

• Build production-ready engineering practices for managed storage services, including release readiness, observability, runbooks, and change controls.

• Lead incident response, L3 investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous operational improvement.

• Drive automation for diagnostics, telemetry, deployment validation, and service health reporting.

• Partner with Support, Customer Success, Field Engineering, and Cloud Operations to improve customer experience and reduce escalation load.

Cross-functional & Customer Leadership

• Represent engineering in customer escalations, executive reviews, account recovery plans, roadmap discussions, and technical deep dives.

• Communicate risks, trade-offs, mitigation plans, and delivery status clearly to senior stakeholders.

• Build strong collaboration across Product, Support, Sales Engineering, Programme Management, Operations, and executive leadership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
