Overview

Delaware North's Patina Group is hiring Seasonal Pastry Cooks to join our team at Stella 34 in New York, New York. As a Baker, you will prepare the bakery products at Stella 34 and ensure all items are served in a timely manner with the highest freshness and quality.

The season starts in October and runs through January.

Unit Description

Stella 34 is a modern Italian restaurant offering panoramic views of the Empire State Building. The space combines contemporary design with traditional culinary techniques, featuring wood-burning ovens and a menu inspired by classic Italian flavors. Open daily for brunch, lunch, dinner, and drinks, Stella 34 provides a vibrant setting for both casual gatherings and special occasions.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes portion sizes and quality standards
  • Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked, and utilize kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as knives, slicers, pots, steamers, and ovens
  • Ensure proper baking temperatures are maintained, and food is stored correctly
  • Performs opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of pastry experience required
  • Basic math skills with the ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team player, following procedures and taking directions
  • Capacity to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to remain standing for the entire length of the shift while also walking, bending, reaching, and performing other repetitive motions
