Deine Mission
Join our fluid control equipment development team and help build the internal design software and simulation architecture for electromagnetic actuators. Actuator design is driven mainly by mechanical (pressure) loads and electromagnetic performance, so the two must be optimized together. You will evaluate FEniCSx as the basis for this workflow, build the code base, and validate the design methodology. This position can be extended into a thesis project.
- Develop a coupled structural and electromagnetic FEM design workflow for solenoid actuators
- Implement solvers with the open-source framework FEniCSx / DOLFINx for two use cases: A 2D axisymmetric solver for coupled electromagnetic and structural optimization A 3D solver to validate the structural and electromagnetic performance of the final design
- Validate the solvers numerically against standard benchmark cases and against results from deltaVision's current simulation tools
- Optionally, validate structural and electromagnetic results experimentally
Dein Profil
- Currently enrolled in a relevant engineering program, ideally Computational Mechanics, Computational Science and Engineering (CSE), Computer Science, or a similar field
- Demonstrated software development experience (e.g., working student jobs, engineering projects, or a thesis)
- Motivated, pragmatic, and self-organized
- Fluent in English; German and other languages are a plus
