The posting

As Category Buyer Facilities, you are responsible for purchasing indirect services and goods for DEME’s offices, sites and vessels. You manage sourcing projects, build strong supplier relationships and look for ways to improve within your categories.

You are part of the Central Procurement team and report to the Category Manager. You work closely with the Facility Department and stakeholders across DEME’s activity lines.

Your responsibilities

  • Run sourcing projects from market analysis and scope definition through tendering, negotiation, contracting and implementation, with support from the Category Manager where needed
  • Negotiate framework agreements and one-off contracts, where service levels often matter as much as price
  • Build strong supplier relationships and follow up on performance
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into practical solutions
  • Use spend analysis and benchmarking to find opportunities for savings, standardization and better use of existing agreements
  • Help the Category Manager develop and implement the category strategy, and gradually take more ownership of selected categories
  • Act as a point of contact for Operational Buyers in their day-to-day work
  • Keep contracts, pricing, supplier data and documents accurate and up to date; administration is a real part of this job

Your profile

  • At least 2 years of procurement experience, including hands-on work with sourcing and contracts
  • An affinity with buying services or other indirect spend; facility experience is a plus
  • Commercial instinct and confidence in negotiations
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, spoken and written, as many of our contracts are in Dutch
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect people across teams
  • A hands-on approach, a sense of ownership and a willingness to keep learning
  • A good head for numbers and solid MS Office skills
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent experience

Our offer

  • A permanent training track which allows you to develop yourself personally and professionally
  • A stimulating, innovative workplace with numerous growth opportunities
  • An extensive mobility program for a healthy work-life balance
  • A people-oriented environment with an interactive health program and a focus on employee wellbeing

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
