ABOUT DEXMATE

Dexmate is building the foundation for physical AI — combining a new generation of robots with a universal Physical AI OS, making robots as easy to build and deploy as software. Today, robotics is fragmented, slow, and closed: most builders are forced to reinvent the same stack again and again, and most ideas never make it past the prototype stage. We exist to change that. Our mission is to democratize robotics by lowering the barrier to entry, delivering a plug-and-play platform for developers, researchers, and enterprises, and cultivating an open ecosystem that accelerates the evolution of physical AI.

If you want to help shape the next layer of human capability — and believe the future of robotics should be built together, not in isolation — we'd love to build it with you.

THE ROLE

Help make Dexmate robots reliable in the real world. As an Electrical Test & Validation Engineer, you will own validation of the electrical systems and embedded software that power our robots, including batteries, circuit boards, harnesses, and motor controllers. You will uncover issues before they reach customers and partner with engineering teams to resolve them.

This is a hands-on role with substantial time at the bench and in the lab: probing boards, building test rigs, running experiments, and independently investigating failures. We value practical experience and a track record of building, testing, and debugging hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Define and execute electrical validation plans for power distribution, battery packs and battery management systems (BMS), custom circuit boards, motor drives, sensors, harnesses, and connectors.

- Conduct ESD and EMC pre-compliance testing and coordinate with external labs on FCC, CE, and UL compliance and certification activities.

- Validate battery safety and performance and support testing and certification to applicable standards, including IEC 62133 and UN 38.3.

- Develop automated firmware regression tests for communications (CAN, EtherCAT, and Ethernet), control loops, safety functions, and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

- Perform fault-injection testing to verify error handling and safe-state behavior.

- Lead board- and system-level electrical failure analysis, partnering with electrical and firmware engineers to identify root causes and verify corrective actions.

- Write clear test procedures and maintain accurate test data, reports, and findings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

- 4+ years of hands-on experience in electrical validation or embedded systems testing for robotics, automotive, or consumer electronics.

- Strong bench skills, including the use of oscilloscopes, current probes, power analyzers, electronic loads, thermal cameras, and soldering equipment.

- Ability to read schematics and diagnose board-level failures.

- Experience testing power electronics, battery systems, or motor drives.

- Proficiency in Python for test automation and comfort working in Linux.

- Familiarity with embedded systems and communication interfaces, including CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with EtherCAT or real-time motor control systems.

- Hands-on experience with EMC/ESD pre-compliance testing and FCC, CE, or UL compliance and certification activities.

- Knowledge of battery safety standards, including IEC 62133, UN 38.3, and UL 2271.

- Familiarity with functional safety standards, such as ISO 13849 and IEC 61508.

- Ability to read and write embedded C/C++.

- Experience building hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems and firmware continuous integration (CI) pipelines.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
