ABOUT DEXMATE

Dexmate is building the foundation for physical AI — combining a new generation of robots with a universal Physical AI OS, making robots as easy to build and deploy as software. Today, robotics is fragmented, slow, and closed: most builders are forced to reinvent the same stack again and again, and most ideas never make it past the prototype stage. We exist to change that. Our mission is to democratize robotics by lowering the barrier to entry, delivering a plug-and-play platform for developers, researchers, and enterprises, and cultivating an open ecosystem that accelerates the evolution of physical AI.

If you want to help shape the next layer of human capability — and believe the future of robotics should be built together, not in isolation — we'd love to build it with you. The Role

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead new product introduction for Dexmate’s robot subsystems and final assembly. You will turn engineering prototypes into hardware that can be built consistently, inspected effectively, and released to production.

You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, test, and supply chain teams to drive design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA), prepare manufacturing processes, and lead engineering and pilot builds. This is a hands-on role spanning design reviews, supplier visits, and the build floor, with ownership of manufacturing readiness through initial production ramp.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead manufacturing readiness for robot subsystems and final assembly, from early design reviews through engineering builds, pilot production, and manufacturing handoff.

- Drive DFM/DFA reviews for structures, mechanisms, actuator assemblies, and integrated electromechanical systems. Partner with design engineers to improve part geometry, tolerance allocation, assembly access, and process repeatability.

- Select and qualify manufacturing processes with suppliers, balancing performance, quality, cost, lead time, and production volume. Evaluate drawings and inspection requirements against demonstrated process capabilities.

- Define assembly process flows, manufacturing bills of materials, production routings, and work instructions. Maintain alignment with engineering designs and released configurations.

- Plan and lead engineering and pilot builds, coordinating materials, tooling, documentation, inspection, and technician readiness. Track build issues, assign corrective actions, and verify closure before the next build.

- Develop and qualify fixtures, tooling, and assembly processes for precision alignment, preload, controlled fastening, actuator installation, and harness integration.

- Partner with test and firmware engineers to incorporate calibration, in-process inspection, and end-of-line functional checks into the manufacturing process.

- Resolve first-article discrepancies, assembly failures, and yield issues through root-cause analysis. Drive corrective actions across product design, supplier processes, tooling, and assembly methods.

- Lead manufacturing readiness reviews with engineering, quality, and production teams. Implement engineering changes with clear revision control, material disposition, and updated build documentation.

- Complete production handoff with qualified processes, trained technicians, documented acceptance criteria, and traceable build records. Support initial ramp to achieve agreed yield, build-time, and cost targets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, new product introduction, or hardware industrialization for robotics, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or similarly complex electromechanical products.

- Demonstrated ownership of at least one product or major electromechanical assembly from engineering prototypes through pilot builds and into repeatable production.

- Strong DFM/DFA experience, with examples of design and process changes that improved assembly quality, manufacturing yield, cost, or lead time.

- Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, casting, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, and surface finishing, including their tolerance and production-volume tradeoffs.

- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, GD&T, tolerance stacks, and dimensional inspection, with proficiency in 3D CAD for design review and fixture development.

- Hands-on experience developing assembly processes, tooling, manufacturing documentation, and build acceptance criteria.

- Experience working directly with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and production technicians to resolve build issues and implement corrective actions.

- Ability to coordinate technical decisions across design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams, and follow issues through to verified closure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Direct, on-site experience leading new product introduction at a U.S.-based factory or contract manufacturer, including pilot-build execution, assembly troubleshooting, technician training, and production handoff.

- Experience manufacturing robot joints, actuators, manipulators, mobile bases, or other precision electromechanical assemblies.

- Experience establishing assembly processes for a new product or transferring manufacturing between engineering, internal production, and contract manufacturing teams.

- Experience with process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, measurement system analysis, and process capability studies.

- Familiarity with robot calibration, functional testing, and component-to-system traceability.

- Experience managing manufacturing readiness across evolving designs, multiple suppliers, and changing production volumes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
