Since 1965, Didlake has served thousands of people with significant disabilities by providing training, job placement, employment opportunities, and day support services. We provide rewarding and purposeful work.

Why This Role Matters

As the Director of Total Facilities Management (TFM), you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of government and commercial facilities services contracts. You will ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and customer-focused delivery of facilities operations, maintenance, custodial, and related support services while driving operational excellence, workforce development, and business growth.

This leadership role directly supports Didlake's mission by building high-performing teams, strengthening customer partnerships, and creating environments where employees and individuals with disabilities can succeed.

What You Will Do

  • Provide portfolio-level oversight of TFM contracts, ensuring compliance with statements of work, performance standards, contract requirements, applicable regulations, and company policies.
  • Serve as a senior operational representative to customers, contracting officials, Source America representatives, Maryland Works representatives, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead performance reviews, issue resolution, corrective action initiatives, and customer engagement efforts.
  • Monitor contract deliverables, risk areas, and service commitments while maintaining a consistent reporting and escalation process.

  • Oversee management of complex building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems (BAS), and energy management systems.
  • Establish effective work control and preventive maintenance programs that improve reliability, reduce downtime, and minimize reactive maintenance.
  • Monitor work order quality, backlog, completion rates, emergency response activities, and critical asset performance through CMMS and related management systems.
  • Utilize operating data, equipment condition assessments, inspections, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Workforce Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop Operations Managers, Project/Plant Managers, supervisors, technical staff, custodial teams, and other personnel across the TFM portfolio.
  • Build a culture of accountability, safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure effective staffing, scheduling, shift coverage, and on-call support aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Implement workforce development initiatives, competency assessments, training programs, and succession planning strategies.

  • Maintain auditable safety plans, permits, certifications, inspections, training records, operating logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead operational audits and quality inspections while driving root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Escalate and manage issues involving safety, environmental concerns, regulatory risk, security incidents, or significant service disruptions.

Vendor & Resource Management

  • Oversee subcontractors and vendors supporting maintenance, repair, testing, inspections, custodial operations, and project work.
  • Ensure scope, schedule, cost, qualification, safety, and quality requirements are effectively managed.
  • Evaluate vendor performance for responsiveness, quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain oversight of tools, equipment, critical spare parts, inventories, and emergency response resources.

Financial & Contract Administration

  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, lifecycle planning, proposals, contract modifications, renewals, and IDIQ/FOY estimates.
  • Manage labor utilization, overtime, material costs, subcontractor expenditures, and operational budgets.
  • Review financial reports, invoices, procurement requests, quotes, and subcontractor agreements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Contract Administration, Human Resources, Safety, Quality, and Business Development teams to support successful contract execution and growth initiatives.

Reporting, Risk & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide executive-level reporting on operational performance, staffing, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and financial results.
  • Maintain action plans and risk registers with defined ownership, milestones, and accountability measures.
  • Drive standardization, process improvement, reliability initiatives, and performance optimization across all TFM operations.
  • Support contract startups, transitions, recoveries, and contingency planning for major operational changes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
