The posting

Location: Hangzhou, China

Start Date: August 2027

Age Group: Senior School

Curriculum: Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level

Subject: Art & Design (Fine Art Focus)

Bring your creativity into the classroom and help students explore, create and express themselves through art.

Hangzhou Dipont School of Arts and Science, in partnership with King's College School, Wimbledon and RDFZ Beijing, is seeking an outstanding Teacher of Secondary Art to join our learning community in August 2027.

The successful candidate will teach IGCSE and A-Level Art & Design, inspiring students to develop their technical skills, explore new ideas and establish their own artistic voice.

As our current students have a strong interest in Fine Art, we are particularly keen to appoint a teacher with a solid background in this area who enjoys taking a practical, hands-on approach to teaching. The ideal candidate will be confident demonstrating artistic techniques, working alongside students to develop their skills, and providing individual guidance as they refine their ideas and produce ambitious, high-quality work.

This is an opportunity to join a creative learning environment where students are encouraged to experiment, develop their skills and take their ideas beyond the classroom. You will have the space to develop projects, contribute to exhibitions and creative initiatives, and play an active role in the wider creative life of the school.

Your Creative Environment

Our campus provides a rich environment for creative teaching and learning, with opportunities to:

  • Work with students across dedicated creative learning spaces
  • Explore a range of media, materials, techniques and artistic disciplines
  • Develop and showcase student work through exhibitions and displays
  • Lead individual and collaborative student art projects
  • Connect Art with the school's wider performing arts and creative programmes
  • Develop clubs, workshops, competitions and extracurricular activities
  • Bring forward ideas for new projects and creative initiatives

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous IGCSE and A-Level Art & Design lessons, with a strong emphasis on Fine Art
  • Develop students' practical skills in drawing, painting, mixed media, visual research and creative experimentation
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations, individual guidance and constructive feedback to support students' technical development and artistic confidence
  • Guide students through coursework, personal investigations and portfolio development
  • Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level Art & Design assessments
  • Curate and contribute to student exhibitions, displays and creative projects
  • Lead or support Art clubs, workshops and extracurricular activities, contributing to the school's wider creative programme

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Fine Art, Art & Design, Visual Arts, Art Education, or a closely related field, ideally with a strong Fine Art background
  • Recognized teaching qualification, license or certification, such as UK QTS/PGCE or an equivalent US, Canadian or Australian teaching credential
  • At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience
  • Experience teaching Art & Design at Secondary and/or Senior School level
  • Experience with an appropriate international, British, Cambridge IGCSE and/or A-Level curriculum
  • Strong practical skills and confidence in demonstrating Fine Art techniques and supporting students through the creative process
  • Strong understanding of practical assessment, coursework and portfolio development
  • Able to meet Chinese work-permit requirements

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
