Job Description

As Compliance Officer, Privacy - APAC, you will provide independent second-line oversight of privacy and data protection risk across DLL’s Asia Pacific operations. Working within the APAC Compliance function, you will monitor applicable privacy laws, regulatory expectations, and emerging developments; provide advice and constructive challenge to first-line business, product, operations, technology, data, and security teams; and assess whether privacy risks are identified, managed, and evidenced in line with DLL’s risk appetite and global privacy framework. You will play a key role in helping DLL safeguard personal information, protect the privacy and data rights of customers, partners, and DLL members, and maintain trust through effective privacy risk management and oversight, while promoting privacy-by-design, overseeing material privacy incidents and remediation, supporting regulatory engagement, and contributing to effective regional and global privacy governance, reporting and awareness.

Your Mission:

  • Provide second-line privacy oversight by reviewing and challenging how privacy and data protection risks are identified, assessed, managed, escalated, and reported across APAC.
  • Act as the primary APAC contact for DLL's Global Privacy Office (GPO), supporting the implementation of global privacy initiatives and facilitating effective engagement between APAC stakeholders and the GPO.
  • Provide expert privacy advice and guidance on complex privacy matters, individual rights requests, customer complaints, regulatory enquiries, and matters escalated to regulators or external dispute resolution bodies.
  • Review and challenge personal data processing activities, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), privacy risk assessments, data retention practices, cross-border data transfers, intra-group information sharing, and privacy risks arising from outsourcing and vendor arrangements, ensuring privacy-by-design principles are embedded and data protection risks are appropriately managed.
  • Oversee the management of privacy incidents and data breaches, including risk assessment, remediation activities, escalation requirements, and regulatory notification obligations where applicable.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of privacy controls, processes, and systems, identifying control weaknesses, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement, while supporting assurance reviews, audits, and regulatory examinations.
  • Identify, report, and escalate material privacy risks and trends through effective governance forums, management reporting, and engagement with local, regional, and global leadership teams.
  • Promote a strong privacy culture by delivering targeted training, awareness initiatives, and practical guidance that enhance privacy capabilities and support effective risk management practices.

Skills and Capabilities Required:

  • Experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, legal, technology risk, information governance, or a related control function.
  • Working knowledge of privacy and data protection principles, including lawful basis, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, retention, security, accountability, and individual rights.
  • Strong analytical communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

All members enjoy:

  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible working, including hybrid, designed to support you at every stage of life.
  • Global and Inclusive Culture: A global and inclusive culture where your unique background and perspectives are valued.
  • Two volunteering days: Two working days to contribute to charities and your community.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, wellness, and financial programs and industry leading holiday package.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
