Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Escalation & High-Severity Incident Management (L3 Support)

  • Act as the senior L3 technical authority for Oracle Core and EBS databases, supporting day-to-day BAU tasks, Incident Management, and Requests for Change (RFCs).
  • Lead diagnostic efforts during complex technical disruptions and actively engage to drive rapid resolution of high-severity/critical production incidents.
  • Guarantee overall production readiness across all supported database environments in alignment with strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Review proposed technology changes to identify potential operational risks and ensure zero-downtime execution.

2. Service Improvement & Infrastructure Optimization

  • Proactively propose continuous service improvements for all Oracle and EBS services across the organization.
  • Provide reactive and proactive technical expertise to safeguard system availability, performance, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Champion operational efficiency by adhering to global IT frameworks and LEAN-CA-CIB best practices.
  • Maintain global IT perspective and anticipate interrelationships across interconnected organizational platforms.

3. Strategic Collaboration & Transformation

  • Partner closely with technical peers, Development teams, Service Managers, Solution Architects, and Project Managers on project delivery and technical roadmaps.
  • Facilitate strategic IT transformation initiatives and recommend future directions for platform enhancements.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging database technologies and industry trends to assess their feasibility for integration into Bank operations.

Technical Qualifications & Skills

Mandatory Requirements (Must Have)

  • Oracle Core & EBS Expertise: Deep technical expertise as an Oracle Core & Apps DBA with extensive hands-on experience in EBS R12.1.x and R12.2.x environments, as well as Oracle 12c and 19c databases within RAC environments.
  • Exadata & High Availability Architecture: Hands-on working experience with Oracle ExaCC, RAC, and Data Guard (Physical Standby, Snapshot Standby, Switchover, and Failover).
  • ExaCC Patching: Proven track record in executing ExaCC patching across DOM0, DOMU, GRID, and DATABASE layers.
  • Upgrades & Migrations: Proven record of successfully executing at least one database upgrade from 11g to 12c / 12c to 19c, alongside an EBS Application upgrade from 12.1.3 to 12.2.x.
  • EBS High Availability Design: Deep experience maintaining multi-node EBS High Availability setups, including: Database Nodes: RAC, Active Data Guard. Web/Forms Nodes: Load-balanced Web and Forms nodes, Servlets, DNS/Network configuration. Processing & Nodes: Parallel Concurrent Processing (PCP) load distribution and adding EBS nodes within shared application tier filesystems.
  • Patching & Maintenance: Proficiency in applying CPU/PSU security patches (Opatch and ADOP), performing instance cloning/refreshes, and running installations in complex multi-node environments.
  • Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: Advanced troubleshooting capabilities in resolving critical issues across Concurrent Managers (CM), Apache, and Database engines, alongside expertise in SQL query fine-tuning.

Desirable Requirements (Good to Have)

  • Automation & Scripting: Strong scripting skills using Shell, Ansible, or Python to automate repetitive DBA administrative tasks.
  • Data Replication: Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Oracle GoldenGate replication components.
  • Cloud & Cloud Database Services: Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and DbaaS utilities.
  • Domain Experience: Prior experience within the Banking or Financial Services (BFSI) sector.

Candidate Profile & Soft Skills

  • Experience Level: Senior-level experience as an L3 Oracle/EBS DBA capable of working under high-pressure, critical production environments.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills suitable for reporting to management and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Interpersonal & Team Dynamics: Highly independent, self-motivated worker combined with strong teamwork and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Analytical thinker driven by operational excellence, risk mitigation, and proactive solution design.
