Job Description

Ocean Export Operations

  • Manage end-to-end FCL/LCL ocean export operations, from booking and documentation to customs clearance, vessel departure and shipment closure.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, SI/VGM cut-offs, gate-in deadlines and shipment milestones to ensure timely execution.
  • Oversee booking confirmations, container movement and cargo handover within defined timelines.
  • Ensure accurate shipment updates in the operating system and adherence to customer SOPs and service levels.
  • Resolve operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to prevent delays.

Documentation & Customs Coordination

  • Ensure accuracy of shipping instructions, Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and other export documents.
  • Manage customs clearance, shipping bill processing and Let Export Order (LEO) in coordination with CHA/customs teams.
  • Ensure timely submission of VGM, shipping instructions and other mandatory documentation.
  • Oversee HBL/MBL issuance, verification, amendments and release within prescribed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, port requirements, shipping line procedures and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records for audit and compliance purposes.

Shipping Line & Vendor Management

  • Manage shipping line/NVOCC engagement for bookings, space availability, container allocation and equipment positioning.
  • Monitor carrier and vendor performance against agreed service levels.
  • Track detention, demurrage, rollovers and other shipment-related costs; resolve discrepancies and minimize avoidable expenses.
  • Handle operational escalations and ensure timely resolution of shipment exceptions.
  • Drive service efficiency and customer satisfaction through effective issue resolution and stakeholder management.
