Our client a leading energy business is looking for a Construction Safety Site Manager to manage the safety of a major construction project in the South of Spain.

As a Construction Safety Site Manager, you will work closely with project teams, contractors, and site leadership to promote a strong safety culture and help create safer working environments. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviours, and potential risks across construction activities
  • Conduct site observations, safety inspections, and behavioural safety conversations
  • Support the implementation of proactive risk identification and mitigation processes
  • Facilitate discussions with site teams to identify opportunities for improving safety performance
  • Build positive relationships with contractors, client representatives, and project stakeholders
  • Coach and influence individuals and teams to strengthen safety awareness and accountability
  • Participate in incident reviews, learning activities, and corrective action discussions where required
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility for safety
  • Support the implementation of client and project-specific safety programmes and initiatives

Who You Are

You are a proactive safety professional who enjoys working closely with people in the field. You are highly visible, approachable, and comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to influence safer behaviours and drive a positive safety culture.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction safety, site safety management, HSE, or a related field
  • Experience working on large construction, infrastructure, industrial, or capital project environments
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and managing workplace risks
  • Experience conducting site inspections, safety observations, and behavioural safety activities
  • Strong understanding of construction hazards, risk management, and safety systems
  • Experience working collaboratively with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams

Capabilities

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence and coach others without direct authority
  • Excellent observation, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with both leadership and frontline personnel
  • Passion for creating safer workplaces and improving safety culture

Education & Languages

  • Degree, diploma, or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline
  • Relevant health and safety certifications preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish required
  • Professional working proficiency in English

Mobility

  • Must be able to work onsite in the south of Spain
  • Must be available to start in December

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
