This position is seeking an experienced and adaptable engineer to join the Grid Strategy & Advancement Engineering Application team. The team owns the Technical Interconnection Requirements for Large Load (TIRLL), including ongoing implementation and updates, and is developing Duke Energy's Computational Load Commissioning Process in response to the direction from NERC. The role will support the safe and reliable integration of large and computational loads through technical evaluation, requirements development, commissioning readiness, and cross-functional execution.
The Engineer III position is the advanced level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer III position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. An Engineer III is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer III effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied.
The Senior Engineer manages work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. The Senior Engineer is expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. Employees in the Senior Engineer position are fully competent in the use of concepts and procedures. The Senior Engineer identifies problems, develops solutions and takes action to resolve.
