This role represents Duke Energy in industry and regulatory forums. The position will work closely with internal stakeholders, neighboring utilities, regional transmission organizations, consultants, and project developers to evaluate system performance and identify solutions that maintain reliability while enabling grid growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform transmission studies including Dynamic Stability, Electromagnetic Transient (EMT), and other advanced power system analyses.
  • Support reliability assessments associated with transmission expansion plans, large load interconnections, generation interconnections, and emerging system conditions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for complex engineering studies, analytical methodologies, and modeling practices.
  • Coordinate with MISO and PJM planning organizations to support regional planning activities, model development, study assumptions, project evaluations, and stakeholder initiatives.
  • Participate in MISO and PJM technical working groups, stakeholder processes, and regional planning activities.
  • Support coordination with large load developers, generation developers, neighboring utilities, and consultants to ensure accurate modeling information and study assumptions.
  • Provide technical oversight of consultant-performed studies, including review of methodologies, assumptions, results, recommendations, and deliverables.
  • Participate in site visits, testing activities, and commissioning support as needed to evaluate system performance and support validation of study assumptions.
  • Coordinate with Transmission Planning, Operations, Protection & Control, Generation, and other engineering organizations to ensure models, assumptions, and planning criteria remain current and consistent.
  • Lead the identification, analysis, and resolution of complex power system issues affecting transmission reliability and grid performance.
  • Prepare and present technical studies, reports, recommendations, correspondence, and presentations to leadership, stakeholders, and external organizations.
  • Manage project schedules, technical deliverables, stakeholder interfaces, and study execution for assigned initiatives.
  • Support development and continuous improvement of study methodologies, modeling practices, technical standards, and planning processes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
