The posting

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Toronto-based engineering team and contribute to the development of global SaaS products. As an individual contributor, you will work as part of cross-functional Agile teams to design, build, test and maintain secure, reliable and scalable software used by customers across multiple markets. Working closely with Product, Design, Quality Assurance, DevOps and fellow engineers, you will help deliver high-quality product features, improve existing systems and contribute to a culture of collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement.  Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software features for global SaaS products, following agreed engineering standards and best practices.  Work collaboratively within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives and continuous delivery activities.  Partner with Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify acceptance criteria and deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs.  Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code, participating in code reviews and applying feedback to improve quality, performance, security and reliability.  Apply AI-first engineering principles by using modern developer tools, automation and AI-assisted workflows responsibly to improve code quality, development velocity, testing effectiveness and delivery of customer-impacting features.  Support the operation and improvement of production systems, helping investigate defects, resolve issues, reduce technical debt and improve observability, resilience and user experience.  Contribute to engineering practices across CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, secure development, cloud services and operational readiness.  Contribute to engineering leadership within the team by role-modelling effective use of modern tools, supporting peers to adopt high-quality practices and helping the team increase delivery pace without compromising security, reliability or customer experience.  Collaborate with colleagues across global product and engineering teams, sharing knowledge, learning from others and contributing to a positive, inclusive and high-performing team environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Experience developing software in a commercial SaaS, software product, cloud-based technology or similar engineering environment.  Strong programming skills and experience building maintainable, testable and scalable software using modern engineering practices.  Good understanding of SaaS product development, cloud platforms, APIs, databases, secure coding, automated testing, CI/CD and system reliability principles.  Understanding of AI-first software development principles, including responsible use of AI-assisted coding tools, automation, code quality practices and modern engineering workflows to improve productivity and product outcomes.  Experience working in Agile teams, including participating in planning, estimation, refinement, reviews, retrospectives and iterative delivery.  Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, QA, DevOps and other engineering colleagues to deliver customer-focused solutions.  Ability to influence and support team adoption of modern engineering tools and practices that increase quality, velocity and the release of features that improve the customer experience.  Clear communication skills, with the ability to ask good questions, explain technical decisions, raise risks early and contribute constructively to team discussions.  Curious, pragmatic and quality-focused, with a willingness to learn, share knowledge and contribute to global products used across multiple markets.

Benefits  We strive to be visionaries. As a SaaS technology business, we ensure our employees are ready for the next challenge in their journey with us by offering learning, mobility and development opportunities. We offer competitive salaries and a tailored Canadian benefits package, which may include healthcare, retirement benefits, wellness programs, company discounts, and paid days off to move house or volunteer for your favourite charity.  In line with the amended Employment Standards Act 2000, the salary range for this role is up to: $140K, dependent on assessment of skills during the interview process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.
