Job Description

  • Part or Full time (0.6 - 1.0 FTE) position until 30 June 2027
  • Based in Rockhampton and the surrounding area, with hybrid and flexible working arrangements (on the land of the of the Darumbal People)
  • $51.23 - $58.00 per hour + 12% super + salary packaging up to $18,550 per year (based on qualifications and experience)

The Youth Enhanced Services (YES) program supports young people aged 12–25 experiencing severe and complex mental health challenges. Delivered through the CCQ Mental Health AOD Hubs, the program offers multidisciplinary care, therapeutic interventions, and community connection to help young people thrive.

Your role, your impact

As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you’ll lead the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based therapy to young people, while mentoring junior clinicians and contributing to service development. You’ll work closely with families, schools, and local services to create coordinated care plans that make a real difference in young lives. You will work from home, see clients in the community, work from headspace office, or work from one of our hubs.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and deliver specialist counselling using CBT, DBT, ACT and other modalities
  • Support and mentor junior clinicians to maintain high service standards
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure integrated care
  • Document clinical work accurately and meet service targets
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and referral pathway development

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience in individual therapy with adolescents
  • Understanding of trauma, youth mental health, and recovery principles
  • Experience in delivering evidence based therapies including CBT, DBT and ACT

Qualifications

  • A minimum Bachelor qualification in Counselling, Social Work (or Master of Social Work), Occupational Therapy or Nursing with a Mental Health specialisation
  • Current registration with a professional body
