Job Description

Do you have experience supporting children with SEND, and enjoy working collaboratively with families and professionals? If you are committed to helping every child achieve the best possible start in life, this could be the role for you.

As a Best Start Inclusion Practitioner, you will help improve outcomes for children aged 0–5 with emerging or identified SEND by providing targeted early intervention and inclusion support. Working across Family Hubs, early years settings and community venues, you will play a key role in promoting school readiness, reducing inequalities and supporting children to thrive.

You will deliver direct support to children and families, carry out observations and assessments, model inclusive practice, provide SEND advice and guidance, contribute to workforce development, and work closely with partners across education, health and early help services to strengthen multi-agency support.

Working within an agreed framework, you will help translate national policy and local priorities into effective day-to-day practice across Best Start Family Hubs and early years settings. Your work will contribute directly to improving outcomes for children and families and support the government's ambition for 75% of children to achieve a Good Level of Development by 2028.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold an RQF Level 4 qualification in a relevant field and have RQF Level 2 English and Maths.
  • Have significant experience of working with children aged 0–5 with SEND.
  • Have knowledge of child development, early identification, inclusive practice, SEND legislation, safeguarding and the graduated approach.
  • Have experience of working in a multi-agency environment and building positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
  • Can carry out observations, assessments and outcome-focused planning, whilst managing a varied workload effectively.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
