About the Role

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented UX/UI Designer to help improve the usability, functionality, and overall user experience of our client websites.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys understanding how people interact with websites and translating those insights into practical design improvements.

You will collaborate with our designers, developers, content specialists, and marketing teams to create websites that are visually appealing, easy to navigate, accessible, and optimized for conversions.

You will also contribute to developing and improving our user-centered design processes, including usability testing, user journey mapping, and design best practices.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of their work, contribute fresh ideas, and continuously improve the digital experiences we deliver.

Key Responsibilities

UX/UI Design and Website Optimization

  • Design and improve user-friendly website layouts, navigation, and interactions.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and design concepts.
  • Identify usability challenges and recommend practical improvements.
  • Apply user-centered design principles to new and existing client websites.
  • Ensure designs are responsive, accessible, and consistent across devices.
  • Support website improvements that enhance user engagement and conversions.

User Research and Testing

  • Assist with planning and conducting usability testing.
  • Develop user journey maps and personas to better understand website visitors.
  • Analyze user behavior, website performance, and feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the optimization team to test and refine website experiences.
  • Use research findings to support design decisions.

Collaboration and Execution

  • Work closely with designers, developers, content writers, and project managers.
  • Translate business requirements and client objectives into effective design solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Prepare clear design specifications and handoffs for developers.
  • Support consistent UX/UI standards across multiple client websites.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Help document and improve UX/UI workflows and design guidelines.
  • Contribute ideas for making design processes more efficient and scalable.
  • Explore AI-powered design tools and emerging UX technologies to improve research, prototyping, and workflows.
  • Stay informed about UX/UI trends, accessibility standards, and website design best practices.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–5 years of practical experience in UX/UI design, web design, or a related discipline.
  • A portfolio demonstrating website design, wireframing, prototyping, and user experience improvements.
  • Experience with Figma or similar design and prototyping tools.
  • Good understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
  • Experience creating user journeys, wireframes, and responsive website designs.
  • Familiarity with usability testing and user research methods.
  • Understanding of conversion-focused website design.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and adapt to new tools and processes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing websites for healthcare, optometry, or service-based businesses.
  • Familiarity with WordPress or similar content management systems.
  • Experience with website analytics, heatmaps, or behavior analysis tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, or Microsoft Clarity.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Exposure to A/B testing and conversion rate optimization.
  • Experience using AI-assisted design, research, or prototyping tools.

Work Requirements

  • Location: Remote – South Africa
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time
  • Work Arrangement: 100% remote

Equipment Requirements:

  • Personal computer and essential working equipment.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection.
  • Quiet, professional workspace.
  • Backup power supply where applicable.

What We Value

At EyeCarePro, we believe great design starts with understanding people.

We value individuals who are curious, collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about improving digital experiences.

You don't need to have led a design department or built an entire UX practice. We're looking for someone with solid practical design skills, good judgment, and a genuine interest in making websites work better for users.

How to Apply

If you're passionate about creating intuitive, engaging digital experiences and enjoy working with a collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you.

Please submit your CV and a portfolio showcasing your UX/UI design work.

Note: If you do not hear from us within two weeks of submitting your application, please consider your application unsuccessful at this time. We appreciate your interest in EyeCarePro.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
