About the team
The RELX Corporate Strategy team functions as an internal consulting team working closely with our businesses – LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Elsevier, LexisNexis Legal, and RX – to enable and guide the development of robust, long-term value creation plans.
About the role
We are looking for an intellectually curious, analytical and collaborative individual with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to join the RELX Corporate Strategy team.
You will work with senior team members and business stakeholders to address strategic questions, develop insights and translate analysis into actionable recommendations. The role offers exposure to diverse businesses, leadership teams and cultures, alongside opportunities to build your consulting skills and internal network.
The team has an excellent track record of developing talent for commercial and leadership roles within our businesses.
The role reports to a Senior Strategy Manager and is based in our headquarters in London. Some projects involve global teams, so meetings may occasionally fall outside UK office hours. We support each other to work flexibly, prioritising work-life balance and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior team members to scope, structure and deliver strategy projects across RELX’s businesses
- Take ownership of defined project workstreams, conducting research and analysis, testing hypotheses and developing actionable recommendations
- Analyse market trends, customer needs, competitor activity and emerging technologies, including AI, to identify opportunities and implications for RELX businesses
- Develop quantitative models and qualitative insights to assess strategic options and their commercial impact
- Create clear, decision-oriented presentations and communicate findings and recommendations to business stakeholders
- Build effective relationships with colleagues across strategy, product, commercial and other business functions
- Support RELX-wide communities by organising forums, sharing insights and best practices, and facilitating networking across strategy, product and commercial teams
Requirements
- Have experience delivering strategy or commercial projects within management consulting, investment banking or a corporate environment
- Demonstrate strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving
- Be able to think strategically and tactically, connecting the broader business context with operational detail
- Have advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, with excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Be able to manage competing priorities and take ownership of workstreams, working independently and as part of a team
- Be intellectually curious, creative and attentive to detail
- Be internally motivated, positive and self-starting, with a commitment to learning and developing new skills
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement and a collaborative working style
- Be able to build relationships and communicate effectively in multicultural, multinational environments
- Experience in information, data services or analytics businesses would be an advantage.
