Powering the world. Protecting its most vital resources. What if your work helped keep the lights on and ensured communities have access to clean, reliable water?

Emerson Power & Water Solutions is a global leader in power and water automation, trusted across 60+ countries to support over 1.4 million MW of generating capacity worldwide. In the U.S., our solutions help manage more than 12 billion gallons of water every day through advanced control and monitoring technologies.

If you are passionate about improving how people interact with technology and complex industrial systems, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Cranberry Township, PA.

In this role, you'll help transform the way operators manage power generation and water treatment facilities across North America. Working with Emerson's industry-leading Ovation™ Distributed Control System, you'll develop high-performance operator displays, optimize alarm systems, and deliver Human-Machine Optimization (HMO) solutions that improve safety, reliability, and operational effectiveness.

Whether your background is in process operations, controls engineering, industrial systems, automation, power generation, manufacturing, or HMI design, this role provides the opportunity to develop specialized expertise in High Performance Control Rooms and become a trusted advisor to some of the industry's most critical infrastructure operators.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Design, develop, test, and implement Human-Machine Optimization (HMO) and High Performance Control Room solutions for power and water utility customers.
  • Create intuitive operator graphics and visualization solutions that align with industry standards and improve operator decision-making.
  • Configure and deliver alarm management solutions that help customers improve situational awareness and operational performance.
  • Analyze alarm and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and recommendations for process improvement.
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops with plant operators, engineers, and customer stakeholders to understand operational challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Support system integration, factory testing, site commissioning, and customer acceptance activities.
  • Manage project priorities, schedules, and customer expectations to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Build trusted customer relationships through technical expertise, communication, and consultative problem-solving.
  • Continuously develop expertise in control room design, operator effectiveness, alarm management, and Emerson Ovation technologies.

Who You Are:

You anticipate customer needs and provide services that are beyond customer expectations. You adjust communication to fit the audience and the message. You identify and seize new opportunities.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience in industrial operations, manufacturing, process control, automation, power generation, water treatment, engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex information into practical solutions
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with customers, operators, engineers, and project teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% throughout North America
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge of controls and/or alarm systems
  • Proven experience in optimizing human-machine interface (HMI), or alarm management systems.
  • Knowledge of industry graphic standards for operator displays, such as ANSI/ISA 18.2, ANSI/ISA 101.01, IEC 63303, a plus
  • Analytical skills to evaluate alarm system performance and recommend improvements
  • Ability to confidently present to groups varying in size, from small teams to large audiences

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
