Job Description

Join Emerson’s Reliability Solutions team in Warsaw and help build software that supports the safe and reliable operation of critical industrial infrastructure around the world. As a Software Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of backend services, APIs, data solutions, and integrations primarily using C# and .NET technologies. Working within an international, cross-functional team, you will help deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable software while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and continuous learning environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Analyze product and system requirements and translate them into clear backend implementation tasks, collaborating with senior engineers and architects as needed.
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, business logic, and system integrations using C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Implement data access solutions for relational and document databases in alignment with established architecture and engineering standards.
  • Develop service-based solutions, including asynchronous communication and message processing capabilities.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, logging, and other security and reliability controls.
  • Create and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
  • Investigate defects, troubleshoot application issues, and contribute to root-cause analysis and resolution activities.
  • Support improvements to system performance, reliability, maintainability, and observability.
  • Utilize CI/CD pipelines and containerized development environments while supporting release and deployment activities.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, technical refinement sessions, and estimation activities.
  • Contribute to backlog refinement by clarifying requirements, identifying edge cases, assessing feasibility, and helping break down features into implementable tasks.
  • Participate in Program Increment planning and cross-team coordination activities through technical input, estimation, dependency management, and risk assessment.
  • Identify implementation risks, dependencies, and integration challenges and communicate them effectively to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, frontend developers, test engineers, architects, DevOps engineers, and cybersecurity specialists throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, API specifications, engineering standards, developer tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other responsibilities aligned with the scope of the role.

Who You Are: You build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. You consistently deliver high-quality work by ensuring accuracy and maintaining strong attention to detail. You adapt your approach in response to changing priorities and new information while remaining focused on outcomes. You seek opportunities to learn, apply new knowledge, and continuously improve both your own effectiveness and the solutions you help create.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Min 3 years if professional experience developing backend software solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and backend service development.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, asynchronous programming, dependency injection, configuration management, validation, and exception handling.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience with Entity Framework Core or comparable data access technologies.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
  • Exposure to microservices, asynchronous messaging, or message brokers such as RabbitMQ.
  • Understanding of authentication, authorization, secure coding practices, and common API security principles.
  • Experience creating automated unit and integration tests.
  • Experience with application logging, debugging, and production support activities.
  • Familiarity with Git, code review practices, package management, build tooling, and CI/CD concepts.
  • Ability to understand existing software designs and develop maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and participating in backlog refinement, estimation, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Understanding of Agile quality practices and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to contribute to cross-team planning activities, including dependency identification, technical planning, and risk assessment.
  • English communication skills that enable effective collaboration in a global team environment.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with MongoDB or other document database technologies.
  • Experience using Docker and containerized development environments.
  • Familiarity with microservice patterns, API gateways, distributed caching, resiliency techniques, and fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, or similar identity and access management technologies.
  • Familiarity with modern software design patterns and architectural principles.
  • Experience with SignalR, WebSockets, gRPC, or comparable communication technologies.
  • Exposure to observability practices, including metrics, health checks, distributed tracing, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience developing industrial software, connected-device solutions, edge computing applications, or software supporting critical infrastructure.
  • Awareness of Secure Development Lifecycle practices, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and software supply chain security.
  • Familiarity with SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly while maintaining security, confidentiality, code quality, and intellectual property protection.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
