Job Summary

Empyra is looking for a Business Development Analyst to support the growth of our consulting and professional services business in the US market.

This is primarily a sales and business development role. The Business Development Analyst will research target accounts, identify decision-makers, initiate conversations, qualify opportunities, and work closely with our Sales and Consulting teams to develop new business.

The role will also support market research, account intelligence, CRM management, pipeline tracking, and other sales operations activities.

We are looking for someone who is curious, commercially minded, organized, comfortable speaking with customers, and interested in building a career in technology consulting sales.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify and research new companies that could benefit from Empyra’s consulting and professional services.
  • Build and maintain target-account and prospect lists.
  • Research accounts to understand their business, technology environment, strategic initiatives, and potential consulting needs.
  • Identify key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through email, LinkedIn, phone, events, referrals, and partner channels.
  • Develop personalized outreach based on the prospect’s business needs and environment.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads and identify potential business opportunities.
  • Schedule discovery meetings and support early-stage customer conversations.
  • Work with Sales and Consulting teams to understand customer requirements and position relevant services.
  • Follow up with prospects and help move opportunities through the sales pipeline.
  • Support preparation for customer meetings, account reviews, proposals, presentations, and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain accurate account, contact, activity, and opportunity information in the CRM.
  • Monitor pipeline activity and provide regular reporting on meetings, opportunities, conversions, and sourced pipeline.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to identify new industries, accounts, trends, and business opportunities.
  • Support partner-led opportunities, referrals, and joint sales activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Technology, or a related field.
  • 1–5 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, consulting, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable reaching out to and speaking with prospective customers.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand customer problems and connect them with appropriate business solutions.
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work across Sales, Consulting, Marketing, and technical teams.
  • Comfortable working with CRM, prospecting, research, and productivity tools.
  • Interest in enterprise technology, SaaS, consulting, and professional services.

Experience with technology services, enterprise software, Atlassian, SaaS, or B2B consulting is a plus but not required.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means consistently identifying the right companies and decision-makers, creating qualified customer conversations, supporting the development of new consulting opportunities, and contributing measurable pipeline to the business.

The role is not measured simply by the number of emails or calls made. We are looking for quality research, meaningful customer engagement, qualified opportunities, disciplined follow-up, and contribution to pipeline growth.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
