Job Title: Senior Java Engineer Key Skills: Java, Spring Boot, Django, Python, React, Kafka, GraphQL, SQL, MongoDB Experience: 3–5 YOE Location: Costa Rica Mode: Remote.

We at Coforge are hiring Senior Java Engineer (#20921-22-5) with the following skill set.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend applications primarily using Java and Spring Boot, with Django and Python as secondary technologies.
  • Contribute across multiple backend and frontend projects using technologies such as React, Kafka, GraphQL, SQL, and MongoDB.
  • Take ownership of the software development lifecycle, including building, deploying, merging, and troubleshooting production code.
  • Work autonomously across multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, resolving technical challenges, and using data to investigate production issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot as the primary backend technology stack.
  • Experience with Django and Python as secondary backend technologies.
  • Experience with React for frontend development.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and GraphQL.
  • Experience working with SQL and/or MongoDB.
  • Experience with software build and deployment processes.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: Dagster, Data Lakes, or Amazon Athena.
  • Senior-level ability to ramp up quickly and assume ownership across multiple projects.
  • High level of ownership, autonomy, initiative, and ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Product Manager experience working with GTM teams and engineers to support prioritization.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments with minimal guidance.
  • Strong prioritization and strategic thinking skills.
  • Experience using data to troubleshoot production issues.
