Scope

Reporting directly to the Network Components Business Leader (VP Business solution team), the Application Engineer will be an integral member of the NWC business team, providing the technical expertise required to support both current operations and future growth.

The position will have broad cross-functional responsibility, working closely with customers, Sales, Product Management, R&D/Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing. The role will provide direct technical support to the Lebanon facility while also collaborating with domestic and international manufacturing locations to ensure product performance, quality, consistency, and successful industrialization.

This includes identifying and removing technical barriers to growth, supporting new customer and market opportunities, accelerating product development and qualification, optimizing existing products, and ensuring that manufacturing capabilities are aligned with evolving customer and business requirements.

The Application Engineer will be expected to balance immediate customer and operational priorities with longer-term product and business development initiatives. Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, commercial awareness, a high level of ownership, and the ability to influence and coordinate activities across a global, matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities

* Support root-cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions, and technical responses related to customer or manufacturing quality concerns.

* Support product and process transfers between manufacturing locations, including technical documentation, qualification, and implementation.

* Participate in customer technical meetings, business reviews, customer scorecard discussions, and other strategic engagements as required.

* Support product validation, testing, qualification, and technical documentation.

* Promote standardization and best-practice sharing across domestic and international manufacturing operations.

* Maintain awareness of relevant technologies, customer requirements, industry standards, competitive developments, and market trends affecting the Network Components business.

* Provide technical training and product/application guidance to Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, customers, and other stakeholders as needed.

* Travel to customer locations, manufacturing facilities, industry events, and other Prysmian locations as required.

Minimum Requirements

* 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in telecommunications, connectivity, network components, wire and cable, fiber optics, copper connectivity, or a related engineered-product/manufacturing environment.

* Strong engineering fundamentals with demonstrated ability to analyze technical problems and develop practical, manufacturable solutions.

* Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, product requirements, and manufacturing documentation.

* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and other technical functions.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

* Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications, product solutions, and manufacturing requirements.

* Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
