The posting

Help us make work better, starting with our own people.

Engage Squared is an award-winning, fast-growing technology consultancy that believes in great workplace culture and investing in our people.

We've been recognised as Microsoft Partner of the Year in Australia, named among the best places to work in the Australian tech industry by the Australian Financial Review's BOSS Best Places to Work list, and recognised by WRK+ as one of the best small companies to work for.

We specialise in helping organisations work better, together, faster through Microsoft technologies. Our vision is to create a world where every employee has access to the tools, knowledge and information they need to enjoy work.

We're passionate about removing the friction of inefficient processes, making better use of technology and creating great experiences for people. And we're bringing that same thinking to our own People & Culture function.

This role is open to candidates based in Melbourne or Brisbane.

With teams across Australia, New Zealand and Japan, you'll be joining a collaborative business where people are encouraged to share ideas, develop their skills and make a genuine contribution.

We pride ourselves on being a fun, innovative and collaborative organisation that practices what we preach and delivers great customer results.

About the role

We're looking for a People & Culture Coordinator who loves the operational side of HR, takes pride in getting the details right and enjoys finding better ways to do things.

You'll join our small, experienced P&C team, supporting the day-to-day people operations of a growing international business.

Let's be upfront. This is a hands-on, administration-heavy role to begin with. We have plenty of operational work to get through, and we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys HR coordination, can take ownership of the details and help keep things running smoothly.

But there's a genuine opportunity to help us change how that work gets done.

We're investing in our P&C systems, simplifying processes and introducing more automation and employee self-service. We want someone who can help us manage the work today while contributing ideas and improvements that will make our function more efficient as we grow.

You'll have the opportunity to build your experience, contribute to P&C initiatives and help shape how the role evolves over time.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, employment changes and offboarding.
  • Prepare employment contracts, letters and other HR documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain employee records and HR systems, ensuring our people data is accurate and up to date.
  • Manage routine P&C enquiries, providing helpful and timely support to employees and leaders.
  • Support recruitment coordination, pre-employment checks and new starter arrangements.
  • Assist with payroll-related administration, reporting and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate learning and development activities and support broader P&C projects.
  • Help improve how we use Employment Hero, Microsoft 365 and other tools to manage our people processes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify administration, improve self-service and automate repetitive tasks.

What you'll bring

  • Around 2+ years' experience in a dedicated HR or People & Culture coordination role.
  • Practical experience managing HR administration, employee lifecycle processes and employment documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to organise your workload and manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence using HR systems and Microsoft 365. Experience with Employment Hero would be an advantage.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Sound judgement, discretion and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership, solve problems and follow things through.
  • An interest in technology, process improvement and finding smarter ways of working.

You don't need to be an expert in automation or process improvement. We're looking for someone who's curious, willing to learn and comfortable asking, "Could we do this better?"

Most importantly, you'll enjoy the coordination side of HR. You'll understand that getting the fundamentals right makes a real difference to the employee experience, and you'll take pride in making that happen.

What you'll get

  • A supportive, collaborative team with experienced P&C professionals who are invested in your development.
  • Exposure to a broad range of HR activities across a growing international business.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
  • The chance to contribute to improvements in our systems, processes and employee experience.
  • A flexible working environment that supports work-life balance.
  • The opportunity to work for an award-winning technology consultancy that genuinely values its people.

We know this role will evolve as we improve our systems and ways of working. You'll have the opportunity to be involved in that evolution, while developing your own skills and experience along the way.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
