Wat ga je doen

Als arts arbeid en gezondheid bied je mensen handvatten om te leren omgaan met een diagnose én om weer mee te kunnen doen in de samenleving. Wat betekent de beperking voor het werk van cliënten? En voor hun thuissituatie? Kunnen ze op de oude voet verder of zijn er aanpassingen nodig?

Samen met een team van medische en niet-medische experts bekijk je hoe cliënten hun werk weer kunnen oppakken en weer de regie kunnen nemen over hun eigen leven. Je kijkt niet alleen naar wat er mis is, maar vooral naar wat er mogelijk is. Zodat iedereen mee kan doen in de samenleving.

Wat houdt de functie o.a. in?

- Kennis verbreden en verdiepen

Je krijgt te maken met de hele breedte en diepte van het medische vak. Alle ziektebeelden en prognoses passeren de revue. Je legt een puzzel van medische en werkfactoren, persoonlijke en sociale factoren.

- Voor individu en samenleving

Op basis van jouw anamnese en de regelgeving sociale zekerheid, stel je een advies op en neem je een beslissing. Je doet wat goed is en wat besteding van premiegelden rechtvaardigt. Dankzij jouw expertise kan iemand straks weer verder. Je leert jouw besluit duidelijk te motiveren.

- Kennisontwikkeling arbeid & gezondheid

Je draagt bij aan de medische kennisontwikkeling op het gebied van arbeid en gezondheid. Op eigen initiatief of bij netwerkbijeenkomsten. Er is onder andere een A(N)IOS Netwerk Verzekeringsgeneeskunde.

Als arts bij UWV werk je in een multidisciplinair team met collega-artsen, arbeidsdeskundigen, re-integratiebegeleiders, teamondersteuners, sociaal-medisch verpleegkundigen, medisch secretaresses en procesbegeleiders. Het eerste jaar staat vooral in het teken van kennismaken met én ervaring opdoen van het vak verzekeringsgeneeskunde. Je wordt begeleid door een praktijkopleider en je werkt onder supervisie van een ervaren arts arbeid en gezondheid. Je hebt ruim de tijd voor je cliënten om zo tot een afgewogen oordeel te komen. Je ontwikkelt o.a. je advies- en gespreksvaardigheden. Na de opleiding tot arts arbeid en gezondheid ga je werken met een medisch secretaresse of een sociaal medisch verpleegkundige vanuit de werkvorm taakdelegatie.
