Als SMA-arts geef je onafhankelijk advies over voorzieningen rond wonen, arbeid en participatie. Jouw nieuwe baan Je werkt binnen een team dat gemeenten en andere organisaties adviseert over cliënten die vanwege lichamelijke of psychische beperkingen mogelijk in aanmerking komen voor een voorziening. Denk aan woningurgentie, een gehandicaptenparkeerkaart, bijzondere bijstand, leerlingenvervoer, ontheffing van de leerplicht of het inburgeringsexamen en vraagstukken rondom arbeid. Tijdens spreekuren voer je sociaal-medisch onderzoek uit. Je bespreekt de medische en psychologische situatie, beperkingen en prognose van de cliënt. Afhankelijk van de situatie bestaat jouw onderzoek uit een anamnese, observatie, lichamelijk onderzoek en oriënterend psychologisch onderzoek. Wanneer aanvullende informatie nodig is, vraag je - met toestemming van de cliënt - gegevens op bij een huisarts of medisch specialist. Vervolgens beoordeel je de mate van beperkingen en stel je een onafhankelijk en objectief advies op binnen de geldende wet- en regelgeving. Je werkt zelfstandig, maar maakt deel uit van een multidisciplinair team van onder andere artsen en orthopedagogen. Jaarlijks worden vanuit dit team duizenden sociaal-medische adviezen uitgebracht. Jouw nieuwe werkplek Je gaat aan de slag binnen het sociaal-medisch adviesteam van een grote gemeente in de regio Rotterdam. Het team richt zich op vraagstukken rondom onder meer wonen, welzijn, inburgering en arbeid.
