Als CNC-draaier die zelf programmeert ben je verantwoordelijk voor het zelfstandig programmeren, instellen en produceren van complexe precisieproducten op moderne CNC-draaimachines. Je werkt onder andere met Okuma 7-assige machines en met Miyano-, Doosan- en Hyundai-machines, met Fanuc als belangrijkste besturing. Programmeren doe je zowel aan de bank als met CAM. Je leest en controleert werkorders, tekeningen en 3D-modellen en bepaalt daarna de juiste bewerkingsstrategie, gereedschappen en opspanningen. Je schrijft en optimaliseert CNC-programma's met G- en M-codes, stelt de machines in en af en voert controlemetingen uit met schuifmaten, micrometers, driepuntmicrometers en flankenmicrometers. Je produceert hoogwaardige onderdelen in onder andere aluminium, RVS, staal, messing en kunststof. Bij nieuwe producten overleg je met collega's hoe een product het slimst geproduceerd kan worden. Je krijgt hierin veel zelfstandigheid en verantwoordelijkheid.
