Als Data-analist/scientist bij de gemeente Sittard-Geleen werk je aan thema’s die je dagelijks om je heen ziet: leefbaarheid in wijken, tevredenheid van inwoners, duurzaamheid, verkeer, zorg en nog veel meer. Je helpt collega’s én bestuurders om betere keuzes te maken op basis van jouw analyses, dashboards en adviezen. Denk hierbij aan: inzicht bieden in het leerlingenverloop en het ontdekken van trends, indicatoren opstellen om buurten en wijken met elkaar te vergelijken en denk je mee over het logisch plaatsen van ondergrondse afvalcontainers in de stad.

Je werkt aan uiteenlopende vraagstukken, waarbij jouw analytische skills en frisse blik helemaal tot hun recht komen. Je draait mee in onderzoeken en projecten — van het analyseren van inwonerpeilingen tot het bouwen van dashboards over leefbaarheid of mobiliteit. Je werkt samen met beleidsmakers, data-engineers, geo-specialisten en andere analisten. Je bouwt dataproducten van begin (ruwe data of vragen van collega’s) tot eind (presentatie, publicatie of visualisatie). Zo draag jij bij aan een slimmere, datagedreven gemeente.

Je komt terecht in een enthousiast datateam met: Data-analisten, Geo-informatie analisten, Data engineers en Business informatie analisten.

Waar ga je mee aan de slag?

  • Je analyseert en combineert data uit verschillende bronnen over de stad, buurten en inwoners om nieuwe inzichten en verbanden zichtbaar te maken — van inwonerpeilingen tot het gebruik van voorzieningen
  • Je maakt dashboards en datavisualisaties in Power BI die collega’s helpen betere keuzes te maken
  • Je helpt mee met het opzetten en uitvoeren van onderzoeken, waaronder het opstellen, controleren en analyseren van vragenlijsten
  • Je zorgt voor het (door)ontwikkelen van veelgestelde vragen en werkt mee aan voorspellende datamodellen
  • Je krijgt de ruimte om te experimenteren met tools of andere technieken die jou interesseren
  • Je helpt mee om data op een duidelijke en toegankelijke manier beschikbaar te maken voor collega’s en inwoners.
  • Je hebt HBO werk- en denkniveau en affiniteit met data, onderzoek of digitalisering
  • Je bent proactief: je ziet kansen en mogelijkheden, neemt initiatief en wacht niet af tot iemand je vertelt wat er moet gebeuren
  • Je werkt secuur en gestructureerd: je leest goed, volgt stappen zorgvuldig en hebt oog voor details, fouten en inconsistenties
  • Je vindt het leuk om dingen uit te pluizen, verbanden te leggen en daar iets moois van te maken (zoals een dashboard)
  • Ervaring met Power BI, SQL of Python/R is een pluspunt
  • Je denkt in oplossingen, stelt slimme vragen en durft met een frisse blik naar bestaande processen te kijken
  • Je communiceert makkelijk met mensen van verschillende afdelingen en weet je verhaal goed over te brengen
  • Je wilt bijdragen aan een gemeente die eerlijk, slim en mensgericht werkt — met behulp van data.
