Als directeur Ruimte zet jij je visie en leiderschap in om Genk verder ruimtelijk te ontwikkelen. Daarbij zet je de klant – onze inwoners en bezoekers – altijd centraal, zodat die kan rekenen op een efficiënte dienstverlening en een openbaar domein in topvorm. Je kijkt vooruit en je stemt je visie af op grote maatschappelijke uitdagingen op vlak van wonen, mobiliteit, duurzaamheid, klimaat, enz. Innovatie is voor jou een vanzelfsprekendheid.

De sector Ruimte is een van de drie kernsectoren van stad Genk en is verantwoordelijk voor thema’s als stadsontwikkeling, wonen, leefmilieu & duurzame ontwikkeling en mobiliteit. Ook de technisch uitvoerende diensten, die instaan voor het dagelijks beheer en onderhoud van het stedelijk patrimonium, maken deel uit van deze sector.

Als directeur Ruimte werk je nauw samen met het college van burgemeester en schepenen, en maak je deel uit van het managementteam. Samen werken jullie collegiaal aan de globale kwaliteit van onze organisatie en de stedelijke dienstverlening. Je rapporteert rechtstreeks aan de algemeen directeur.

Onze organisatie is momenteel in volle ontwikkeling om haar zo goed mogelijk te laten aansluiten bij de evoluerende wereld en maatschappij. Jouw kritische en analytische blik zal nodig zijn om ook de processen en structuren binnen de sector Ruimte onder de loep te nemen en waar nodig te optimaliseren.

Wat wij van jou verwachten:

  • Je hebt een masterdiploma en kunt 4 jaar relevante ervaring voorleggen als leidinggevende of in de ruimtelijke sector.
  • Je bent een mensgerichte en sterke leider die je team motiveert, inspireert en coacht.
  • Je hebt een open geest, durft met een andere blik te kijken en je denkt in vernieuwende mogelijkheden.
  • Het unieke DNA van Genk spreekt je aan: je beschouwt onze diversiteit als een rijkdom die Genk versterkt en laat uitgroeien tot een stad waar iedereen graag werkt, ontspant en leeft.
