Bouw jij mee aan de zorg op Saba voor minimaal 6 maanden ? Voor Saba Cares Foundation zijn wij geregeld op zoek naar een betrokken en enthousiaste Huisarts . Wij zoeken bij voorkeur een collega die zich voor langere tijd aan het eiland wil verbinden om écht een band op te bouwen met de populatie. Daarnaast staan we nadrukkelijk open voor huisartsen die op korte termijn flexibel willen bijspringen tijdens drukke periodes . Werken op Saba betekent werken in de volle breedte van het vak. Je combineert reguliere huisartsenzorg met spoedeisende zorg en ouderenzorg, binnen een warme gemeenschap waar flexibiliteit, zelfstandigheid en interculturele sensitiviteit hand in hand gaan. Functieomschrijving Als huisarts (Island Physician) op Saba ben je de spil in de lokale gezondheidszorg. Je werkt in een unieke, generalistische setting waarin geen dag hetzelfde is. Je bent verantwoordelijk voor: - Brede patiëntenzorg: Van acute spoedeisende opnames en chronische pathologie tot consulten op de polikliniek en de medische zorg voor de bewoners van het verpleeghuis (nursing home) - Medische evacuaties: Indien nodig coördineer en verzorg je medische uitzendingen (air ambulances) naar omliggende eilanden zoals Sint Maarten of Colombia - Multidisciplinaire samenwerking: Je werkt nauw samen in een compact en collegiaal team van artsen, verpleegkundigen en paramedici. De lijnen zijn kort en de sfeer is informeel Door de kleinschaligheid van het eiland word je snel een bekend gezicht.
