Je stuurt onderzoek niet alleen aan, maar geeft het ook richting en verbindt het met de praktijk. In een internationaal speelveld werk je samen met overheden, ontwerpers en kennisinstellingen. Je: - bedenkt technische oplossingen om watercycli in woonwijken en gebouwen te sluiten en zo wateroverlast en watertekorten te voorkomen. Daarbij draag je verantwoordelijkheid voor de inhoud, organisatie en voortgang van onderzoek; - ontwikkelt en beoordeelt oplossingen voor waterkwaliteit en waterkwantiteit binnen verschillende waterstromen in gebouwen en wijken, zoals Cartesius in Utrecht; - integreert de watercyclus met andere aspecten van duurzame wijken, zoals energiehuishouding, klimaatadaptatie, leefbaarheid, sociale aspecten en milieu-impact, en past indicatoren toe in Europese casestudies; - ontwikkelt en past methodieken, indicatoren en digitale tools, zoals Digital Twins, toe voor water in gebouwen en gebieden en analyseert succesfactoren en opschalingsmogelijkheden; - verbindt onderzoek en onderwijs, vertaalt onderzoeksresultaten naar onderwijsontwikkeling en draagt actief kennis uit via Engelstalige publicaties, rapporten en samenwerkingen binnen en buiten de HU.
