Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Platform/DevOps Engineer to design, build, operate, and continuously improve our cloud, edge, CI/CD, and automation platforms.

This role supports infrastructure across both public cloud and distributed edge computing environments deployed at remote field locations. These environments support application workloads, local data processing, connectivity, and operational systems where reliability, automation, remote manageability, and resilience to intermittent connectivity are critical.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong experience in cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Linux, containers, automation, networking, observability, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate reliable infrastructure across cloud and distributed edge environments.
  • Develop and maintain standardized, reusable CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure delivery.
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and configuration-management practices.
  • Automate provisioning, deployment, configuration, validation, maintenance, and operational workflows.
  • Manage containerized and virtualized workloads across centralized and remote environments.
  • Improve deployment reliability, platform availability, recoverability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Implement secure infrastructure, identity, networking, secrets, and machine-to-machine communication patterns.
  • Build and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities.
  • Support production and field incidents, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with software engineering teams to improve developer productivity and establish consistent deployment and operational standards.
  • Reduce manual operational work through automation and self-service capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and contribute to platform and DevOps engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience operating production infrastructure in GCP.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, preferably GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps and/or ArgoCD or equivalent.
  • Strong Linux and Windows administration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration platforms, preferably GKE and KubeEdge
  • Experience supporting infrastructure in remote, on-premises, hybrid, or edge environments.
  • Experience with virtualization, preferrable Promox; and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in a scripting or programming language such as Python, Bash, Typescript and/or Go.
  • Strong understanding of networking, including private connectivity, routing, DNS, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Experience implementing secure identity, access, secrets, and workload authentication practices.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability.
  • Experience supporting production systems, incident response, and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across engineering, security, product, and operations teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical lead.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience with Google Cloud Platform or another major public cloud platform.
  • Experience managing hybrid cloud and distributed edge infrastructure.
  • Experience with configuration-management and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience building reusable CI/CD frameworks and deployment standards.
  • Experience with cloud security, software supply-chain security, and compliance practices.
  • Experience with cost optimization and infrastructure efficiency.
  • Experience with industrial, field, IoT, or operational technology environments.
  • Oil and Gas industry experience.

Key Success Characteristics

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong technical ownership.
  • A preference for automation over manual operations.
  • Ability to work across cloud, edge, infrastructure, networking, and application delivery domains.
  • Ability to design scalable, repeatable, and remotely manageable systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Focus on reliability, security, standardization, and operational simplicity.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Proactive mindset focused on automation, standardization, and continuous improvement.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
