JB5 Principal Business Analyst – P&C Product Our Purpose
At Majesco, we believe in connecting people and business to Insurance in ways that are Innovative, Hyper-Relevant, Compelling and Personal. We bring together the brightest minds to build the future of Insurance; a world where Insurance makes life and business easier, more connected and better protected.
About the Role
The Principal Business Analyst (JB5) in the P&C Product Organization is a senior individual contributor who drives high-quality business analysis, requirements definition, and end-to-end requirement quality across P&C products and capabilities such as Policy, Billing, Claims, Digital1st, and P&C AI.
In this role, you will work closely with Product Management, Product Owners, Architects, Engineering, QA, Services, Support, and customer-facing teams to translate product vision, strategy, and roadmap priorities into clear, testable product specifications, business journeys, and release-ready outcomes.
You will be expected to operate with a high degree of independence on complex, cross-domain initiatives across the P&C portfolio, while also acting as a product champion who can demonstrate, discuss, and clearly articulate features, functions, and underlying rationale to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis for complex P&C domains and cross-product initiatives across policy lifecycle, rating, billing and payments, collections, claims, digital, and related carrier workflows, from discovery through solution definition and delivery support.
- Work closely with Product Management and Product Owners to translate product vision, strategy, and roadmap priorities into end-to-end business journeys, product requirements, and testable outcomes aligned to business goals.
- Partner with business consultants, business analysts, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to detail complex carrier journeys, operating models, and edge-case scenarios across varying customer landscapes.
- Produce and govern high-quality epics, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, data mappings, and functional specifications for complex P&C capabilities and integrations.
- Create and maintain AS-IS and TO-BE process views, integration contracts, and scenario handling for complex P&C use cases including out-of-sequence changes, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and other high-impact business events.
- Collaborate with P&C Architects and Engineering to validate feasibility, align requirements with reference architectures and product standards, and resolve requirement or design trade-offs across squads and product areas.
- Work with QA, UAT, and testing teams to translate release outcomes into end-to-end P&C journeys and test cases, improve scenario coverage, and strengthen requirement quality through the delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Implementation, Support, Customer Success, and Production teams to analyze defect leakage, production issues, and customer feedback, and convert learnings into structured backlog improvements and stronger QA/UAT patterns.
- Act as a champion for the P&C product area by presenting capabilities in demos, supporting release readiness and field enablement, and clearly articulating business value and product rationale to broad audiences.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization, standardization, and productivity enhancement across P&C transactions, tools, and ways of working.
- Share BA best practices, templates, and patterns across the P&C Product Organization, and provide coaching, feedback, and mentoring to other BAs and cross-functional team members to improve overall analysis quality and team capability.
- Support project planning, status reporting, issue resolution, and broader roadmap execution effectiveness for the initiatives and product areas within scope.
What You’ll Bring (Must-Have)
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst in P&C insurance product development or implementation, with deep working knowledge across core P&C processes such as new business, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, billing and payments, collections, agency or producer management, claims, or related workflows.
- Proven ability to structure ambiguous business problems, break them into manageable parts, and translate product strategy into clear, actionable, and testable requirements for global engineering and QA teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in writing and reviewing user stories, use cases, process flows, data requirements, business rules, and end-to-end requirement artifacts for complex scenarios and integrations.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to connect, resonate, establish credibility, and influence a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to understand vision and strategy, align analysis to product and portfolio goals, and drive the right level of detail from roadmap through delivery.
- Strong eye for business process improvement and innovation, with ideas for improving productivity, efficiency, and quality across key P&C transactions and customer journeys.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, a first-time-right quality mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Ability and mindset to coach, mentor, and help develop other team members while contributing to broader organizational capability and delivery excellence.
- Comfort working across time zones with global, distributed teams, remaining accessible and effective in collaborative, fast-moving product environments.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Majesco P&C products or other market-leading P&C policy, billing, claims, or digital platforms.
- Hands-on experience with analytics, telemetry, or reporting on P&C operational and financial KPIs to validate assumptions, prioritize work, and refine requirements.
- Exposure to pre-sales, RFPs, product demos, customer advisory discussions, or other field-facing enablement activities in the P&C space.
- Familiarity with AI, automation, and emerging technology trends, and how they can improve P&C underwriting, billing, claims, service, and product workflows.
Qualifications
