The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Business Analyst based in India.

This is a senior business analysis role focused on shaping cloud-based insurance products for the North American Life and Annuity market. You will translate product strategy and roadmap priorities into comprehensive end-to-end user acceptance journeys and test scenarios. The role combines deep insurance-domain expertise with strong business and technical understanding across policy administration, claims, data, and digital platforms. You will collaborate with product management, product owners, business consultants, subject matter experts, testing teams, implementation teams, and customers. A key part of the role is improving product quality by identifying process gaps, reducing defect leakage, and strengthening requirements and test coverage. You will also act as a product champion, presenting capabilities to customers and internal stakeholders while supporting complex issue analysis and resolution. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced insurance professional who can influence cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and connect business needs with effective technology solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Partner with Product Management to translate product vision, strategy, and roadmap priorities into detailed end-to-end User Acceptance Journeys and test cases spanning policy administration through claims.
  • Work with business consultants, business analysts, and subject matter experts to ensure journeys reflect real-world business users, customer-service processes, carrier environments, and different operating models.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to understand release outcomes and translate them into comprehensive end-to-end test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead requirements gathering for life insurance claims capabilities, working closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and IT teams.
  • Analyze existing business processes and systems to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, productivity improvements, and enhanced customer experiences.
  • Work closely with testing teams to ensure adequate requirements coverage and that different business, functional, and scenario patterns are appropriately represented.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate that product solutions meet defined business requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate with implementation and production customers to identify the causes of defect leakage and recommend improvements to quality assurance processes.
  • Support issue analysis, technical and business triage, and resolution activities during testing and production while helping maintain critical product service levels.
  • Act as a product champion by demonstrating product capabilities and clearly articulating features, functionality, business value, and underlying rationale to internal and external audiences.
  • Present product features and capabilities through demonstrations to customers, stakeholders, and broader audiences.
  • Support project management activities, including planning, status reporting, issue tracking, prioritization, and resolution.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of life insurance policy administration systems, claims processes, industry trends, emerging technologies, and the insurance technology marketplace.
  • Track roadmap execution and delivery effectiveness using data-driven analysis and provide insights that support prioritization and continuous improvement.
  • Coach and provide constructive feedback to team members, helping strengthen business analysis capabilities and support professional development.
  • Promote a first-time-right quality mindset and continuously identify opportunities to increase product value, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • 15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years working with Life & Annuity and/or Group insurance products and processes.
  • Extensive experience working with insurance software packages, preferably within policy administration systems, claims, or related enterprise insurance platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Life and Annuity and Group insurance domains, with significant expertise in either policy administration or claims.
  • Blend of business and technical expertise across core insurance processes, data, digital platforms, and cloud-based enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of insurance technology vendors, product landscapes, emerging technologies, competitive developments, and industry trends.
  • Demonstrated experience translating product vision and strategy into actionable roadmaps, business requirements, user journeys, and acceptance scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance, UAT, requirements coverage, defect analysis, and end-to-end testing practices.
  • Excellent business process analysis skills, with a strong ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical improvements.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities, supported by a highly data-driven approach to planning, tracking, and evaluating product delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive outcomes without relying on formal authority.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in compelling and accessible ways.
  • Experience working effectively with global, distributed, and remote teams across different time zones.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against deadlines without compromising attention to detail.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile development practices and processes; SAFe Practitioner certification is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Banking & Finance, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Actuarial qualification is preferred.
  • Experience configuring banking or financial-services products is an advantage.
  • Experience creating complex Excel workbooks, writing macros, or working with programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise insurance platforms is advantageous.
  • Strong growth mindset, curiosity, initiative, and willingness to explore opportunities beyond assigned responsibilities to improve overall business and product value.
  • Fully remote working opportunity based in India.
  • Senior-level role with significant influence over product quality, business analysis, and insurance technology solutions.
  • Opportunity to work on products serving the Life, Annuity, and Group insurance markets.
  • Exposure to complex insurance operations, policy administration, claims, cloud technologies, and digital enterprise platforms.
  • Collaboration with global product, technology, business, testing, implementation, and customer teams.
  • Opportunity to influence product roadmaps, quality processes, user journeys, and end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Opportunities to coach and develop other business analysts and team members.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies and evolving trends within the insurance technology sector.
  • Opportunity to participate in customer-facing product demonstrations and strategic discussions.
  • Professional growth through cross-functional projects, complex business challenges, and international collaboration.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
