As we continue to scale our global platform, the Retail Manager, Fanatics Korea will play a critical role in building and expanding Fanatics Korea's offline retail presence nationwide.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Retail Manager, Fanatics Korea holds full ownership of the company's entire offline retail business in Korea, from launching the first store to scaling a nationwide portfolio of permanent and pop-up locations. This is a strategic, foundational role responsible for site selection, operational framework design, revenue target achievement, and building an organization from the ground up. The Retail Manager, Fanatics Korea delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

HOW WILL YOU DRIVE IMPACT

Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes.

Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams)

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Partner closely with HQ teams across Merchandising, Marketing, and Product to align retail execution with broader business priorities and brand standards.
  • Manage relationships with licensing partners and external stakeholders to ensure operational alignment and mutual accountability.
  • Serve as the primary retail voice in cross-functional planning, contributing field insights to inform product, marketing, and go-to-market decisions.

People Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and evaluate store managers and frontline staff to build a high-performing, fan-focused retail organization.
  • Design the organizational structure of the retail team and lead with clarity as headcount grows alongside the store footprint.
  • Drive performance-based people management, setting expectations, providing coaching, and holding teams accountable to results.

Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans)

  • Ensure all store operations align with Fanatics Korea brand guidelines and visual merchandising standards to deliver a consistent, premium fan experience.
  • Enhance customer experience and service quality across all permanent and pop-up retail formats.
  • Implement operational improvements informed by frontline field insights and direct customer feedback.
  • Champion a store environment that reflects genuine passion for sports and fandom, resonating with KBO, MLB, and broader sports fans across Korea.

Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit)

  • Develop and execute nationwide retail operation strategies suited to an early-stage, high-growth environment, building the playbook from scratch where none exists.
  • Identify and evaluate new store sites, applying both data-driven analysis and market intuition to expansion decisions.
  • Apply AI tools, Excel, and analytics platforms to continuously improve inventory management, sales forecasting, and KPI tracking.
  • Demonstrate a proactive problem-solving mindset, navigating ambiguity and adapting quickly as the business scales.

Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset)

  • Own store-level sales, costs, and KPIs end to end — analyzing performance, identifying gaps, and driving corrective action with urgency.
  • Establish and continuously improve operational processes and SOPs to support consistent execution across a growing multi-location portfolio.
  • Plan and execute new store openings, overseeing site setup and launch timelines, and driving post-opening stabilization and early-stage revenue growth.
  • Deliver against revenue targets with a relentless focus on results, operating with the accountability and ownership of a business founder.

AI & DIGITAL CAPABILITY

We are building a future-ready organization. This role is expected to:

  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes
  • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of retail operations experience spanning store management, operations planning, and multi-location management.
  • Demonstrated experience opening both permanent stores and pop-up locations, from site selection through post-launch stabilization.
  • Hands-on experience in inventory management, sales analysis, and KPI management in a retail context.
  • Data-driven decision-making ability with proficiency in AI tools, Excel, and basic analytics platforms.
  • Background in sports licensing, sports merchandise, or fan merchandise, with a genuine interest in and understanding of KBO, MLB, or other sports.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and developing a retail team, with the ability to build organizational structure in a scaling environment.
  • Proactive, adaptable mindset suited to early-stage or startup environments where processes and infrastructure are still being established.
  • Fluency in Korean required; business-level English or Japanese communication ability preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
