Job Description:

As a privately-owned, biopharmaceutical company, Ferring pioneers and delivers life-changing therapies that help people build families and live better lives. Our independence helps us cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and long-term perspective that enables us to achieve growth and scale, while remaining agile and true to our ‘people first’ philosophy. Built on a 70-year plus commitment to science and research, Ferring is relentless in its pursuit of science that drives powerful discoveries and therapies to help people build families, stay healthy, and stand up to the world’s oldest enemy: disease.

As the Associate Director, Field Access and Account Management, you will lead the Commercial Learning & Development COE (Center of Excellence) to develop account management capabilities, implement role-specific development for Key Account Managers, Field Reimbursement Managers, and Account Directors, and strengthen market access fluency across U.S. commercial business units in Uro-Oncology, Reproductive Medicine, and Orthopedics.

You will be responsible for establishing and advancing Ferring's Integrated Account Management framework, including role and goal alignment, collaborative account planning, communication feedback loops to achieve an operating discipline across Sales Representatives, Sales Managers, Key Account Managers, Field Reimbursement Managers, National Account Directors, and other customer-facing commercial roles.

Working collaboratively with commercial L&D COEs (Commercial Capabilities, Management Effectiveness and Development, Insights & Learning Technology), Business Unit Learning Leads, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Commercial field leaders, Human Resources, and Compliance, you will ensure account management capabilities are aligned with business priorities and positioned to support commercial field performance, customer outcomes, and long-term growth.

This role requires strong business acumen, systems thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to translate evolving customer, market access, and business needs into practical frameworks, development strategies, and operating models that improve field effectiveness and account performance.

With Ferring, you will be joining a recognized leader, identified as one of “The World’s Most Innovative Companies” by Fast Company, and honored by Fortune with inclusion on its “Change the World List,” for addressing society’s unmet needs. Ferring US is also Great Places to Work® Certified, distinguishing it as one of the best companies to work for in the country.

Responsibilities:

Integrated Account Management Strategy and Implementation

  • Lead the implementation of Ferring's Integrated Account Management framework and tools to ensure consistency in account management while enabling flexibility to address business-unit-specific needs.
  • Establish a shared operating discipline that includes common language, coordinated planning, role clarity, goal alignment, and standardized ways of working across customer-facing roles.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration and execution across sales, market access, field reimbursement, and account management teams.
  • Partner with Compliance and functional leaders to ensure role clarity and coordinated account engagement practices support effective execution within applicable policies and role boundaries.

Field Reimbursement and Access Excellence

  • Lead the reimbursement and access curriculum strategies across business units, establishing consistent priorities and development approaches for Field Reimbursement Managers.
  • Build and strengthen core FRM capabilities across reimbursement and patient access, including buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy, payer dynamics, reimbursement processes, and healthcare system navigation.
  • Partner with Market Access, Marketing, Sales team, and BU Learning Leads to create and translate a curriculum strategy into role-specific knowledge and skill experiences to strengthen market access fluency across commercial field roles.
  • Support development of FRM capabilities in identifying access barriers, navigating reimbursement challenges, and effectively partnering with customers and internal stakeholders to support resolution.
  • Promote understanding of healthcare system structures, decision-making processes, care delivery models, and access pathways to strengthen strategic customer engagement and account management effectiveness.

KAM, FRM, & NAD Capability Implementation

  • Partner with Commercial Capabilities COE within Commercial L&D to translate approved capability frameworks, proficiency expectations, and assessment insights into implementation priorities for KAMs, FRMs, and NADs across the commercial business units.
  • Implement role-based onboarding and development pathways established by Commercial Capabilities in partnership with Business Unit Learning Leads, Leadership Development, and Learning Operations.
  • Partner with commercial leaders to identify emerging role requirements, field performance needs, and implementation priorities, providing insights to Commercial Capabilities to inform future framework and pathway enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain frameworks that support account planning, stakeholder engagement, influence, strategic thinking, and business acumen across account-facing roles.
  • Reinforce practices that enable account-facing roles to communicate clinical, operational, access, and economic value to diverse customer stakeholders.

Field Readiness and Effectiveness

  • Support readiness efforts associated with product launches, business initiatives, and changing customer environments.
  • Identify emerging customer engagement capabilities required to effectively navigate increasingly complex healthcare systems, integrated delivery networks, and strategic accounts.
  • Develop, implement and facilitate training content during new hire and advanced training programs for FRMs, KAMs, NADs, and Sales teams.
  • Develop, implement and facilitate training content including workshops as required for all Sales meetings to support FRMs, KAMs, NADs, and Sales teams.
  • Co-travel with new and current FRMs, KAMs, and Sales Representatives to assess, coach and develop their level of knowledge and skills.

Innovation and Insights

  • Monitor industry best practices and benchmarks related to executive stakeholder engagement, health system navigation, enterprise account management, and market access capabilities to inform future implementation priorities.
  • Represent Ferring in internal and external forums related to account management, reimbursement, market access, and customer engagement excellence.

Stakeholder Alignment and Adoption

  • Partner with Business Unit Learning Leads, Commercial Capabilities, Management Effectiveness and Development, Insights and Learning Technology, and Sales leaders to establish feedback mechanisms to capture field insights and emerging capability needs to inform future development priorities and effectiveness.
  • Develop communication strategies, implementation plans, and change management approaches that support successful adoption of account management framework and tools.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on account management effectiveness, operating disciplines, and customer engagement best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience across Key Account Management, Field Reimbursement, National Accounts, Sales Leadership, Market Access, Commercial Learning & Development, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting Key Account Managers, Field Reimbursement Managers, National Account Directors, or Market Access teams in a L&D capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or implementing account management frameworks, operating models, development programs, or capability strategies that improve business performance.
  • Strong understanding of customer engagement, account planning, reimbursement, payer dynamics, specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, and healthcare market access environments.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to establish frameworks, governance processes, operating disciplines, or capability initiatives within highly matrixed organizations.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, systems orientation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, consulting, and change leadership capabilities.

Preferred

  • Training, coaching, facilitation, account management, or change management certifications.
  • Experience leveraging customer, market, and business insights to inform capability and workforce development strategies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
