Job description

Role Purpose The Senior Accountant / Finance Manager will take ownership of general accounting and finance operations for FGE Singapore and FGE Dubai, acting as the day-to-day finance lead for both entities. The role is responsible for the full accounting cycle, payroll, accounts payable/employee expenses, and statutory compliance (including statutory audits and corporate tax filings) for these entities, supported by one Accounts Executive. Please note that customer invoicing, accounts receivable and revenue operations are excluded from this scope.

The scope of this role is expected to grow: a Swiss entity's operations will be added to the remit in due course, and the Group may complete further acquisitions that could bring additional legal entities under this role, (capacity-dependent). The successful candidate should be comfortable with an evolving, multi-jurisdiction remit and be excited to help shape how it scales. Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent), or qualified by experience for a strong candidate.
  • Solid post-qualification experience in general accounting/finance operations, ideally including exposure to more than one jurisdiction.
  • Working knowledge of Singapore statutory, tax and payroll requirements (ACRA, IRAS, CPF) is essential.
  • Experience with UAE accounting, tax (including UAE corporate tax) and payroll/WPS requirements is desirable.
  • Experience operating within a group/holding company structure, ideally private-equity-backed, is an advantage.
  • Prior people management experience, or clear readiness to manage and develop a direct report.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting standards relevant to the entities (local GAAP and/or IFRS as applicable).
  • Hands-on experience running payroll and reviewing/approving AP and expense processes.
  • Comfortable setting up and releasing payments through corporate online banking platforms, with a strong control mindset.
  • Proficient with accounting/ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
  • Experience preparing for and managing external statutory audits.

Personal Attributes

  • Comfortable operating across multiple entities, currencies and time zones (Singapore, Dubai, and in due course Switzerland).
  • Hands-on and delivery-focused, with the ability to balance operational detail with broader process ownership.
  • Strong communicator, able to work effectively with local teams, external advisers and Group finance stakeholders.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with an evolving remit as the Group grows through acquisition.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership over deadlines and compliance obligations.

Key Responsibilities General Accounting & Month-End

  • Own the month-end close process for FGE Singapore and FGE Dubai, including journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Review monthly management accounts and reporting packs for submission to Group Finance in line with Group deadlines and policies.
  • Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts for both entities, ensuring accuracy and consistency with Group accounting policies.
  • Assist with transitioning the Swiss entity's finance operations and additional possible acquired entities from legacy finance resources into the Group's accounting processes

Payroll

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for FGE Singapore and FGE Dubai, including monthly payroll runs, statutory contributions (e.g. CPF in Singapore, WPS/end-of-service obligations in the UAE) and payroll-related journals.
  • Liaise with HR as needed and ensure payroll compliance with local employment and tax regulations.
  • Eventually extend payroll ownership to the Swiss entity and an additional entity as they come into scope.

Accounts Payable, Expenses & Banking

  • Oversee the accounts payable process for both entities, including invoice review, approvals and supplier payment runs.
  • Oversee employee expense processing and approvals in line with Group expense policy.
  • Set up and release payments in online banking platforms for both entities, maintaining strong controls over payment approval and authorisation workflows.
  • Manage day-to-day banking administration, including bank reconciliations and liaison with relationship banks.

Statutory Compliance & Tax

  • Own statutory compliance for FGE Singapore and FGE Dubai, including preparation for and management of annual statutory audits.
  • Coordinate and file corporate tax returns for both entities, working with external tax agents/advisers as required (e.g. IRAS filings in Singapore; UAE corporate tax and free zone/economic substance requirements in Dubai).
  • Ensure other statutory filings are completed on time, including annual returns, GST/VAT where applicable, and any local regulatory filings (e.g. ACRA in Singapore).
  • Maintain strong working relationships with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and regulators.
  • Support Group consolidated audit requests.
  • Support the same compliance activities for the Swiss entity and a further entity as they are integrated.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, coach and develop the Accounts Executive, allocating and reviewing their work.
  • Build capacity within the local team to support the planned expansion of scope into Switzerland and the potential new acquisition.

Process Improvement & Group Collaboration

  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls and systems as the entity scope expands.
  • Work closely with the Head of Group Reporting and other Group finance stakeholders on reporting timetables, technical accounting queries and ad hoc projects.
  • Support due diligence and finance integration work for potential acquisitions, once relevant.
  • Support the Group’s finance system transformation planned for 2027.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
