Job description

The Opportunity We are looking for a Head of Refined Products Analysis to lead and shape our global view of refined product markets.

This is more than a traditional research leadership role. You will be responsible for developing the house view across gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, fuel oil and other key products, bringing together supply and demand, refinery operations, trade flows, inventories and pricing to explain what is changing, why it matters and what comes next. You will lead a global team, work directly with senior clients and play an important role in developing the models and analytical capabilities that will underpin the next generation of FGE NexantECA research.

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience in oil and refined products across market intelligence, trading, consulting, refining or the wider energy industry.
  • Deep understanding of supply, demand, trade flows, pricing and refining economics.
  • Strong experience in market analysis, balances, forecasting and modelling.
  • A track record of leading and developing talented analytical teams.
  • Strong commercial instincts and an understanding of how clients use market intelligence to make decisions.
  • Credibility with senior industry participants and the ability to communicate complex market dynamics simply and confidently.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the confidence to develop a market view, challenge assumptions and bring new ideas to the table.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and develop FGE NexantECA’s global refined products view across short, medium and longer term horizons.
  • Lead a global team of analysts, setting the analytical agenda and creating a culture of curiosity, challenge and high performance.
  • Connect product balances, refining economics, trade flows and pricing into clear, commercially relevant market views.
  • Identify emerging trends and market inflection points and ensure our analysis stays ahead of the questions clients are asking.
  • Work closely with our crude, refining, fundamentals and demand teams to build an integrated view across the oil value chain.
  • Shape and develop the models and methodologies behind our products analysis, improving how we understand, forecast and communicate market change.
  • Build relationships with senior clients and bring our analysis into trading, investment and strategic decision making.
  • Work with Product and Technology to turn our analytical expertise and models into new tools and client propositions.
  • Be a visible external voice for FGE NexantECA through conferences, client events, webinars, media and thought leadership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
