We are hiring multiple Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to join our team at Artemis Blackwater Mine on a 14 x 14 Continuous Shift rotation. This role offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar mining equipment for the biggest players in the industry.

Job Description:

As a – Heavy Duty Mechanic at Artemis Blackwater, you’ll troubleshoot and repair a variety of Caterpillar mining equipment such as Rock Trucks, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators & Graders; leveraging your technical expertise to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.

Your work will include:

  • Field diagnosis and running repairs of CAT Equipment in an active mine environment
  • Interface with customers, products and sales support
  • Large‑scale overhauls and rebuilds
  • Component replacements
  • Completing required paperwork and maintaining clear customer communication

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic/(HET) Certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract (5 Yr)
  • 10+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience Recommended
  • Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines 793 Haul Trucks, 6015, 6040 and 6060 Shovels, D9 and D10 dozers, 395 Excavators, and 18 Graders
  • Computer literacy along with Finning S-level courses

Important Information:

  • This is a site position, located at Artemis Blackwater Mine on a 14 x 14 continuous shift rotation
  • A condition of employment includes the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (includes Drug & Alcohol testing, and Fitness assessment) and the ability to wear a respirator

Union Membership: This is a unionized position. Union dues will be deducted from your pay upon hire. Terms of employment are governed by a collective agreement.
