The Vice President, Global Product Strategy is responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of Fiserv’s Merchant Solutions business across SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments. This leader serves as the connective tissue between business strategy, product, technology, and Sales, ensuring that Merchant Solutions delivers sustainable growth through a unified, globally aligned product portfolio.

Reporting to the SVP, Global Product Strategy, the Vice President leads global product strategy, portfolio planning and investment prioritization, roadmap alignment, competitive intelligence, executive communications, and strategic transformation initiatives. The role owns the portfolio and roadmap governance model, leads the enterprise operating rhythm, and partners closely with Product, Technology, Sales, and Product Marketing leadership to align resources around the highest-value opportunities and communicate a clear product narrative

internally and externally.

What you will do:

Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Define the global product strategy for Merchant Solutions, spanning Clover, SMB, Mid-Market, Enterprise, and enabling platform capabilities.
  • Translate corporate objectives, market dynamics, customer insights, and competitive intelligence into actionable product strategies and investment priorities.
  • Lead development of multi-year strategic plans, strategic themes, and portfolio roadmaps that drive revenue growth, merchant value, and market differentiation.
  • Own product portfolio governance and roadmap governance, including enterprise-wide prioritization frameworks that evaluate investments based on customer impact, strategic fit, financial return, risk, and execution capacity.
  • Drive executive decision-making processes, portfolio tradeoff decisions, and resource allocation across global product teams.

Executive Communications & Strategic Messaging

  • Drive executive communications and product communications, including strategic messaging, leadership town halls, and organizational updates, plus executive-level content for Board of Directors meetings, Investor Day presentations, earnings support materials, operating reviews, and leadership offsites.
  • Distill complex market, product, and technology topics into compelling business cases and recommendations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives on growth strategy, product investments, M&A opportunities, and innovation initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent strategic messaging across internal and external stakeholder communications.

Go-To-Market & Product Marketing Partnership

  • Partner with Product Marketing to define product positioning, launch readiness, portfolio narratives, and commercial enablement.
  • Support critical commercial opportunities by translating Fiserv strategy into compelling pitch and proposal strategies aligned with clients stated and observed needs and pain points.
  • Align messaging and go-to-market readiness across Product, Sales, and Marketing to accelerate adoption and revenue realization.

Market Intelligence & Industry Insights

  • Monitor and assess competitive, regulatory, macroeconomic, and technology trends impacting global commerce and payments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and business models, including AI, Agentic Commerce, embedded finance, digital identity, data monetization, and next-generation payment experiences.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer pain points, and ecosystem shifts that influence product direction and business strategy.
  • Provide thought leadership and executive recommendations regarding growth opportunities and strategic risks.

Governance, Prioritization & Operating Rhythm

  • Establish and own the governance frameworks that connect strategy, investment decisions, product performance, and execution accountability.
  • Lead QBRs, MBRs, operating reviews, roadmap reviews, and strategic planning forums, ensuring decisions, owners, and follow-through are clear and tracked.
  • Define and monitor portfolio KPIs, investment performance metrics, business outcomes, and strategic health indicators.
  • Create visibility into dependencies, risks, resource constraints, and execution progress across portfolios and regions.
  • Drive accountability for execution against strategic objectives and portfolio commitments.

Cross-Functional Strategy Execution

  • Align product, engineering, design, sales, partnerships, operations, and finance around common priorities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Partner with Product and Technology leaders to ensure roadmaps reflect strategic priorities and customer needs.
  • Coordinate the annual operating plan and connect strategic planning cycles to portfolio investment decisions.

Innovation & Transformation

  • Champion innovation across Merchant Solutions by translating emerging technologies and industry shifts into actionable product capabilities and customer value propositions.
  • Lead strategic transformation programs that improve product planning, prioritization, governance, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Accelerate adoption of AI-enabled tools and modern product development practices across product and engineering organizations.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and data-driven decision making.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing global strategy organization responsible for portfolio planning, product strategy, communications, governance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop talent and future leaders through coaching, mentoring, and career development.
  • Create a collaborative operating model across product, technology, sales, and operations teams.
  • Influence senior executives and stakeholders without direct authority to achieve enterprise outcomes.

What you must have:

  • 14+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, corporate strategy, consulting, payments, fintech, financial services, or related fields.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience managing global teams and enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of payments, merchant acquiring, commerce technology, software platforms, and fintech ecosystems.
  • Proven experience leading portfolio strategy, investment prioritization, and large-scale transformation programs.
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive leadership and driving cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, strategic planning, and executive communication skills.
  • Some commercial (pitch / RFP) experience, with the ability to guide positioning and messaging of key opportunities.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

What is nice to have:

  • Experience within global payments, merchant acquiring, SaaS, commerce platforms, or financial technology organizations.
  • Experience preparing Board, Investor Relations, or executive-level strategic materials.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
