Job Summary





General Purpose:

To provide management with an ongoing real-time estimate of total labor cost, labor cost by specific work area, and labor cost by customer account. Provide management with current and historical headcount statistics. Administer, monitor, and control the contractor requisition process and control the flow of contract labor by ensuring that requisitions are approved by management, and fall within the affordable headcount covered by the financial forecast. Facilitate the execution of the Direct Labor forecast process, to provide management with an accurate outlook for labor cost and headcount for the forecast horizon (3-months, 9-months, 12-months, 24 months) as required by the corporate financial calendar.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Prioritize work tasks to meet deadlines, and work-in any special requests from management while still meeting other deadlines.
  • Maintain files, folders, and documents in an orderly manner, so data or reports can be retrieved in a timely manner.
  • Manage the contract labor requisition process.
  • Work with Supervisors, Managers, and Contract Agencies to ensure contract labor needs are satisfied.
  • Identify and resolve any errors in the Requisition Tracker, and Manage and control the on-line Requisition Tracker in The Box
  • Post Requisitions and Assign requisitions to various contract staffing agencies and periodically send reports on status of open REQs in the requisition tracker
  • Control and maintenance of the on-line labor requisition tracking tool.
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly headcount tracking and reporting, calculation of labor cost estimates, calculation of labor cost allocation by work areas and customers, reporting of the above data to management and finance & timely distribution of these data and reports, to management, program management, and finance.
  • Administer weekly P&L meeting (currently on Thursdays), ensure meeting folders are available for presenters to save their presentations, prepare reports for P&L meetings in a timely manner, and Present labor and headcount reports in the weekly P&L meeting. Meeting(s) will be combination of in-person & Zoom.
  • provide timely estimates of labor cost projections by customer.
  • Plan, Schedule, and Administer Direct Labor forecast process, ensuring to meet deadlines required by the financial forecast schedule. Schedule meetings, meet with Managers and Program Managers, integrate inputs from all participants to create labor cost and headcount outlook for forecast horizon.
  • Provide quarterly government reports as required by corporate finance
  • Help Supervisors and Managers solve issues with contract labor process, initiate REQs, change REQs, cancel REQs, and review forecast headcount affordability.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the contract labor agencies
  • Respond to special requests for historical data, current data, or requests for special what-if scenario calculations from management, program management, or finance.
  • Attend meetings related to Raptor, participate in discussion of labor related issues, assist in the identification of incorrect employee classifications and communication to supervisors on what needs to be corrected.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree (e.g. Business, Accounting or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years of related experience (see below), from large manufacturing companies.

· Must have excellent communication (verbal and written) and cross-functional interpersonal skills, including proven ability to communicate and interact effectively with members at all levels of the organization, supervisors, managers, engineers, program management, senior management, human resources, and contract agency representatives.

· Must also have strong proficiency (at or above Intermediate level) and industry work experience with PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel spreadsheets (analyzing data, calculating costs, performing what-if cost scenarios, creating formulas; creating pivot tables; creating charts and graphs, using v-lookups, sort, find, find & replace, left, right, filter, conditional formatting, etc. functions).
