We seek a visionary leader with suitable academic and administrative experience to guide a dynamic and multidisciplinary department of approximately 30 faculty members spanning aerospace engineering, astronomy and astrophysics, physics, space physics, astrobiology, and planetary sciences. The ideal candidate will possess the collaborative acumen and leadership background to support interdisciplinary innovation, and champion excellence across both our educational and research missions. We are looking for a leader who can build strong connections across traditional disciplinary boundaries, inspire and mentor early career faculty across all fields, and scale our sponsored research enterprise while maintaining our deep commitment to student success. Key responsibilities and qualifications include demonstrated excellence in holistic leadership, a commitment to fostering a collaborative culture, a distinguished record of scholarly accomplishment, and a dedication to upholding and elevating high standards in graduate and undergraduate education, mentorship, and curriculum development.

Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Astronomy, Planetary Science, or a closely related field, alongside a distinguished record of academic accomplishment appropriate for appointment as a tenured full professor.

To apply, please submit a single PDF document containing a cover letter, CV, a statement of research experience and interests, a statement of teaching experience and philosophy, and a statement of vision describing plans for the growth of the APSS department, and contact information for at least three references. Review of applications will begin November 01, 2026. The position is open until filled with anticipated start date of August 2027. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
