FloSports is creating the home for college conferences/leagues and sports like grappling, hockey, track & field, racing, cheer, wrestling, and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us!

THE ROLE:

FloSports is a world-class sports media company dedicated to serving passionate sports fans through live events, original content, breaking news, highlights, rankings, and in-depth coverage across more than 25 sports.

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, people-first Director, Content (FloTrack) to lead the content strategy and day-to-day creative operations of FloTrack, a destination for track and field, cross country, and road/trail racing coverage.

This leader will be responsible for growing FloTrack's audience, strengthening its content authority, driving subscription acquisition and engagement, and maximizing the impact of our content across digital and social platforms.

The ideal candidate combines a deep understanding of track and field with strong content instincts, commercial awareness, operational discipline, and exceptional people leadership. They will establish a clear vision for FloTrack, empower a high-performing team, and foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Content Strategy & Leadership

- Provide hands-on creative leadership at priority FloTrack events, working directly with content teams to identify compelling stories, maximize athlete access, and develop differentiated coverage experiences.

- Establish a credible and authoritative voice for FloTrack that goes beyond reporting news and results to consistently provide the context, analysis, and storytelling that help audiences understand why performances, athletes, and moments in the sport matter. Ensure this perspective is reflected across all content, particularly social media, video descriptions, and event coverage.

- Own and execute FloTrack's content strategy, establishing a compelling year-round content calendar spanning professional, collegiate, high school, and international track and field. Develop and lead comprehensive annual and seasonal content strategies, establishing clear themes, original programming priorities, and storytelling plans well in advance of major events. Ensure the team has the time, direction, and creative freedom necessary to develop differentiated coverage.

- Lead coverage planning for major competitions, championships, athlete storylines, breaking news, and FloSports rights properties.

- Establish content priorities that balance audience demand, subscription opportunities, brand authority, and available resources.

- Oversee the development and execution of original storytelling, news coverage, analysis, rankings, interviews, and event-related content.

- Maintain high standards for content quality, accuracy, timeliness, creativity, and storytelling.

- Identify emerging athletes, narratives, formats, and audience trends that strengthen FloTrack's position within the sport.

Audience Growth & Business Performance

- Develop and execute content strategies that grow FloTrack's audience, deepen fan engagement, and drive measurable business results.

- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Rights Acquisition, Global Partnerships, Live Production, and other cross-functional teams to maximize content reach, discovery, and conversion.

- Support subscriber acquisition, retention, and engagement through compelling content coverage and effective promotion of live events.

- Use audience analytics, subscription performance, search trends, and social metrics to inform content decision-making.

- Identify opportunities for original programming, content monetization, sponsorship integration, and new audience development.

- Establish and monitor clear performance goals across content traffic, social engagement, video consumption, audience growth, and subscription contribution.

- Lead the development of a dedicated YouTube strategy focused on original programming, audience growth, discoverability, monetization, and maximizing the value of FloTrack's live event and archival content.

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, coach, and develop FloTrack's content team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and opportunities for professional growth.

- Establish regular creative development and brainstorming processes that empower team members to originate ideas, contribute to strategic direction, and take pride and ownership in the content they produce.

- Foster a culture built on trust, transparency, collaboration, constructive feedback, and mutual respect.

- Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance conversations, and professional development planning.

- Empower team members to take ownership of their work while providing the direction, support, and resources needed to succeed.

- Build strong communication and collaboration across team members, shared Content functions, and other FloSports departments.

- Proactively address challenges, resolve conflicts, and create an environment where employees feel heard, supported, and motivated.

- Attract, develop, and retain talented content professionals who share a passion for digital storytelling.

Operational & Financial Management

- Oversee FloTrack's day-to-day content operations, content workflows, staffing priorities, and coverage assignments.

- Develop and manage content budgets, including travel, freelance contributors, contract labor, and promotional investments.

- Allocate resources based on strategic priorities, anticipated business impact, and operational needs.

- Establish effective processes for planning, communication, execution, and performance reporting.

- Coordinate content and organic promotional coverage of FloSports events with internal stakeholders, ensuring clear responsibilities and efficient execution.

- Maintain operational flexibility to respond to breaking news, emerging opportunities, and changes in the competitive landscape.

- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and maximize return on content investment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Industry Relationships

- Serve as FloTrack's primary content leader, collaborating with FloSports leadership and teams across Marketing, Rights Acquisition, Product, Sales, and other functions.

- Build strong relationships with athletes, coaches, agents, and other industry personalities to develop exclusive access, original storytelling opportunities, and recurring content franchises that strengthen FloTrack's connection with its audience.

- Partner with rights holders, event organizers, athletes, coaches, agents, and industry stakeholders to strengthen FloTrack's coverage and relationships.

- Collaborate with Creative and Social teams on original video, digital franchises, promotional campaigns, and emerging content formats.

- Support commercial partnerships and sponsored content opportunities while maintaining integrity.

- Represent FloTrack and FloSports professionally within the broader track and field community.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
