The role owns SAP payment runs, payment validation, manual and statutory payments, bank debit reconciliation, clearing, audit support and resolution of payment-related queries. The incumbent will act as a senior operational resource, manage exceptions, support team capability, and strengthen standardization, automation and internal controls across the payments process.

Role Scope

  • Execute and monitor recurring, urgent, statutory, intercompany, employee, credit card, payroll funding and Supply Chain Finance payments.
  • Operate across SAP S/4HANA, bank portals and SAP Treasury payment processes.
  • Ensure complete documentation, appropriate approvals, segregation of duties and accurate clearing or reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with Treasury, Accounting, Tax, Payroll, Procurement, regional finance teams, banks and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP Payment Runs and Proposal Governance

  • Create and execute payment proposals and payment runs in SAP S/4HANA using F110 based on due dates, payment parameters, company codes and payment methods.
  • Validate invoice selection, payment methods, currencies, house banks, bank accounts and banking combinations before submission or release.
  • Analyse proposal exceptions, blocked or excluded items and master-data or configuration issues; coordinate timely correction with relevant teams.
  • Generate payment vouchers and retain complete supporting documentation for accounting, audit and business requirements.

2. Manual, Urgent and Bank Portal Payments

  • Process approved manual, off-cycle and ad hoc payments through various Global banking portals when standard SAP payment runs are not feasible.
  • Create and maintain bank portal templates with accurate beneficiary, bank, currency, amount and payment information, subject to required approvals and access controls.
  • Maintain the manual payment tracker with payee, amount, date, bank reference, approval, payment status and clearing status.
  • Clear manual payments in SAP by matching the bank transaction to the relevant vendor or open item and ensuring accurate accounting.

3. Specialized Payment Processing

  • Process and monitor intercompany payments, ensuring correct company codes, payment methods, accounting entries and settlement of intercompany balances.
  • Execute tax and other statutory payments, including Philippines E-Gov requests, after validating due dates, amounts, authorities, bank details, approvals and supporting evidence.
  • Process corporate credit card settlements, including initiation, validation, bank processing and reconciliation against card accounts.
  • Execute payroll funding payments within required timelines to ensure adequate funding of designated payroll accounts.
  • Process employee reimbursements, advances and other approved employee settlements.
  • Execute payments through the SAP Treasury Front Office process, including initiation, validation, approval coordination and monitoring of bank transmission.
  • Process Supplier Chain Finance payments, monitor settlement with the financing partner and clear the related SAP items.

4. Reconciliation, Clearing and Exception Management

  • Reconcile processed payments against bank debits and promptly investigate missing, rejected, returned, duplicate or mismatched transactions.
  • Reconcile and clear custom or non-standard bank debits against SAP accounting entries.
  • Monitor and clear vendor down payments against corresponding invoices or open items.
  • Track unresolved payment and clearing exceptions, identify root causes, escalate material issues and drive closure within agreed timelines.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions for recurring payment failures, reconciliation breaks or control gaps.

5. Mailbox, Stakeholder and Audit Support

  • Monitor the Payments Team mailbox, triage requests, provide accurate payment status updates and resolve queries within agreed service levels.
  • Coordinate with Treasury on funding, bank issues and payment release; partner with Tax, Payroll, Accounting, Procurement and regional teams on specialized payments and exceptions.
  • Provide transaction details, vouchers, reconciliations, approvals and supporting evidence for internal and external audit requests.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex payment issues and communicate risks, delays and required actions clearly to stakeholders.

6. Controls, Reporting and Continuous Improvement

  • Comply with company policies, delegation of authority, segregation-of-duties requirements, SOX or internal controls and banking security standards.
  • Perform or evidence required validation and maker-checker controls before payment release; immediately escalate suspicious instructions or potential fraud indicators.
  • Prepare and review operational metrics covering payment timeliness, rejection rates, manual payments, aged exceptions, reconciliation status and query turnaround time.
  • Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, trackers and control evidence.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify and automate payment activities across SAP, bank platforms and workflow tools.
  • Support testing and implementation of system enhancements, banking changes and process transformation initiatives.
  • Guide junior analysts, review work where assigned and support knowledge transfer and cross-training.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of Accounts Payable experience, with at least 4+ years of hands-on responsibility for payment processing in a multinational or shared-services environment.
  • Practical experience creating and executing payment proposals or payment runs in SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA and F110.
  • Hands-on exposure to banking portals, manual payments, payment approvals, bank reconciliation and open-item clearing.
  • Working knowledge of internal controls, segregation of duties, audit evidence and payment fraud prevention.

Technical and Functional Skills

  • SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable, F110 automatic payment program and open-item clearing.
  • Bank portals and payment methods such as wire, ACH, SEPA or local electronic payments.
  • Payment proposal validation, exception handling, payment vouchers and bank debit reconciliation.
  • Manual, statutory, tax, intercompany, employee, payroll funding, corporate card and SCF payment processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for trackers, reconciliations, analysis and reporting; exposure to Power BI or Power Automate is advantageous.
  • Understanding of vendor master data, bank details, payment terms, currencies and house-bank configurations.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong ownership and disciplined execution in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement and a control-oriented mindset.
  • Analytical problem-solving and the ability to identify root causes across process, master data, system and banking layers.
  • Clear, professional communication and effective collaboration across global and cross-functional teams.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement, standardization, automation and knowledge sharing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to SAP Treasury Front Office, Supplier Chain Finance or statutory E-Gov payment processes.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
