Treasury Director - Strategy, Risk & Compliance

Working closely with the Group Treasurer, you will shape Flutter’s treasury strategy, risk management, policy and compliance framework, setting a best in class standard for a global, listed business. You will lead the capital structure, funding and hedging agenda, own relationships with rating agencies and core banks, and ensure treasury is a trusted, well controlled partner to the business as Flutter continues to grow.

We’re looking for a senior treasury leader to join us as Director of Treasury, Strategy, Risk, Policy and Compliance.

This role sits at the heart of Flutter’s global Finance function, reporting to the Group Treasurer. You’ll partner with the Group Treasurer to define and drive global treasury strategy, covering funding, financial risk management, treasury policy and compliance. You’ll lead the team that makes sure Flutter’s capital structure, financing and treasury solutions meet the needs of a fast growing, multinational business and stand up to regulatory and governance scrutiny.

About Flutter

We are a world leader in online sports betting and iGaming, with a market leading position in the US and across the world.

We have an unparalleled portfolio of the most innovative, diverse and distinctive brands including FanDuel, Sky Betting & Gaming, Sportsbet, PokerStars, Paddy Power, Sisal, tombola, Betfair, MaxBet, Junglee Games and Adjarabet.

With our global scale and challenger attitude, through which we excite and entertain our customers, in a safe and sustainable way. Using our collective power, the Flutter Edge, we aim to disrupt the sector, learning from the past to create a better future for our customers, colleagues and communities.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with the Group Treasurer to set the strategic direction of Group Treasury, building a function that matches the standard of a US Fortune 500 company.
  • Define and oversee the Group’s funding strategy and capital structure, co leading refinancing and debt issuance, making recommendations at Board level and supporting debt investor relations.
  • Shape the Group’s interest rate and currency risk management strategy, and the investment strategy, with robust monitoring and reporting of risk positions.
  • Own the Group Treasury Policy and compliance framework, including policy compliance reporting and treasury related gaming licence requirements.
  • Manage relationships with credit rating agencies (S&P, Moody’s and Fitch), core banks, legal counsel and treasury solutions providers.
  • Lead the design and enhancement of cash management structures, new bank onboarding and bank KYC and due diligence processes.
  • Lead treasury involvement in M&A, from pre transaction due diligence through to onboarding of new businesses.
  • Strengthen the treasury control environment, working closely with internal audit, compliance and controls teams to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Lead and develop the Strategy, Risk, Policy and Compliance team, and support divisional treasury talent across Italy, Georgia, Serbia, the US, Australia and Brazil.
  • Define the treasury solutions strategy with Treasury Finance Technology and Finance Systems, ensuring the function is scalable and ready for further centralisation.

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive senior experience in a multinational, listed or complex organisation, with over 10 years in roles such as Assistant Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, Treasury Director or Group Treasurer.
  • Significant debt capital markets experience across both leveraged finance and investment grade markets.
  • Proven expertise in treasury policy, financial risk management and funding strategy, with strong derivatives experience across interest rates, FX and structured transactions.
  • Credibility with credit rating agencies, banks and external advisors, and strong bank relationship management experience.
  • A solid understanding of governance, internal controls (SOX or equivalent) and the regulatory frameworks relevant to treasury, ideally including gaming licensing.
  • Experience of treasury aspects of M&A, treasury reporting, treasury accounting and treasury systems.
  • A relevant professional qualification such as ACT, ACA, CFA or FRM is highly desirable.
  • A motivational leader and confident influencer, resilient in a fast paced, high stakes environment and comfortable operating with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
