Job Description:
Manager, Offline Media Data Operations
Role Overview
The Manager, Offline Media Data Operations will support the collection, curation, validation, and delivery of offline media data across channels including Television, Radio, Print, and Out-of-Home (OOH), with a particular emphasis on Television.
This role sits at the intersection of media investment and data operations. The Manager will work closely with Investment teams and other cross-functional partners to ensure offline media data is complete, accurate, standardized, and delivered according to established reporting timelines.
The work follows a well-defined and predictable operating cadence, but deadlines are firm and data quality is critical. Success in this role requires someone who is highly organized, process-oriented, comfortable working with detailed datasets, and able to identify and communicate issues before they become risks.
Key Responsibilities
Offline Media Data Management
- Collect and curate offline media data across Television, Radio, Print, and OOH.
- Work with media Investment teams and, where applicable, source data directly from media buying and planning platforms.
- Review incoming datasets for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established data standards.
- Clean, standardize, and prepare offline media datasets for downstream reporting, analytics, and measurement.
- Reconcile discrepancies across source systems, investment records, and submitted data.
- Maintain documentation and repeatable processes for recurring data workflows.
Television and Offline Media Expertise
- Apply working knowledge of offline media buying structures and terminology to identify potential data issues.
- Understand how Television campaigns are planned, purchased, trafficked, and reported, including the relationships between networks, programs, dayparts, units, costs, and other relevant media attributes.
- Support data requirements across Radio, Print, and OOH and understand the differences in how each channel is purchased and represented in data.
- Partner effectively with media Investment teams to resolve questions requiring channel-specific knowledge.
Operational Execution
- Manage recurring workflows against clearly defined monthly and reporting deadlines.
- Track progress across deliverables and proactively identify dependencies, missing information, or potential delays.
- Follow established processes consistently while identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and data quality.
- Maintain clear audit trails and documentation for adjustments, exceptions, and data corrections.
- Balance multiple recurring deliverables while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Communication and Escalation
- Communicate clearly with Investment teams, Data Operations partners, and other stakeholders regarding requirements, deadlines, and outstanding issues.
- Follow up proactively when required information or corrections are outstanding.
- Recognize when an issue can be resolved independently versus when it requires escalation.
- Escalate risks early, with clear documentation of the issue, impact, owner, and required next step.
- Provide concise status updates and ensure stakeholders understand any risks to delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience working with offline media, preferably within a media agency, advertiser, media owner, or related environment.
- Strong understanding of Television media; familiarity with Radio, Print, and OOH.
- Experience working with media campaign, investment, billing, or reporting data.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with large or highly structured datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to follow repeatable processes and manage work against firm deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and determine when escalation is appropriate.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with both operational and media-focused teams.
- Proficiency with Excel or similar data-management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Prisma, DDS, MediaTools, or comparable media planning, buying, or stewardship platforms.
- Experience extracting or reconciling data directly from media systems.
- Familiarity with media taxonomy, data governance, or reporting operations.
- Experience supporting recurring monthly close, reconciliation, reporting, or data-certification processes.
- Familiarity with data visualization, SQL, Power Query, Alteryx, or similar tools is a plus but not required.
What Success Looks Like
A successful person in this role creates operational reliability.
They understand the media well enough to recognize when the data does not make sense, are disciplined enough to consistently execute established processes, and communicate early when something could jeopardize a deadline.
Because the work operates on a predictable cadence, success is not defined by working at an unsustainable pace. It is defined by planning ahead, maintaining clean and accurate data, following through on outstanding items, and ensuring issues are surfaced with enough time for the organization to respond.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, process-driven, comfortable with accountability, and able to maintain strong working relationships with Investment and cross-functional partners.
