Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a curious thinker who can balance both the rigor and creativity of every media opportunity. Someone who can make big ideas come to life through interesting placements, one-of-a-kind partnerships, and who isn’t afraid to try things that have never been done before. This strategic thinker will partner with all disciplines in the agency and add to the unique, positive culture at BBDO MW.
NOTE: This is a hybrid role which requires a minimum of 3 days in our downtown Minneapolis office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Identify client challenges and implement strategies to meet them
- Develop tactical recommendations based on campaign strategies and designed to produce outstanding results
- Monitor day-to-day client activities and managed workloads to the established timelines
- Lead and/or participate in all pre-planning client meetings to gather input
- Use effective communication to present media plans to clients, and work with Planners and Analysts on their communication/presentation skills
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with media partners
- Stay on top of, and share knowledge with colleagues on, media trends and emerging media opportunities to encourage the best work possible
- Manage the work of Media Planners and Analysts by providing work direction and expertise
- Establish and maintain quality standards for group output to ensure continuity and consistency
- Lead and motivate employees through effective leadership techniques
- Collaborate with internal teams to create synergies across the entire campaign
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience working in an agency media department or in-house media department
- Experience managing multiple clients in a variety of categories
- Digital and social planning experience required
- Exposure to planning all other media channels preferred
- Buying experience preferred
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of and proficiency in computer accessed media tools and databases (e.g. Strata, Nielsen, Pathmatics, MRI Simmons, GCM, Meta, Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Talkwalker, or other similar tools)
- Knowledge and competency in Sharepoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Keynote
- Analytical and detail-oriented; looks beyond the “what” and thinks about “why”
- Skilled in expressing complicated information clearly and succinctly both in writing and verbally
- Skilled at organizing and prioritizing work
- Skilled at interpersonal relationships and ability to interact with individuals from all areas of the industry, both internally and externally
- Skilled with supervisory techniques
- Robust negotiation skills
- Ability to present complicated media plans in a simplified form to clients
- Ability to apply strategic planning skills to the media planning process
- Flexibility to problem-solve, work under pressure, and to effectively adapt to ongoing changes

$75,000 - $85,000
Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
