2. Purpose and Context

FNZ has deployed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations as a core global finance platform. Following global go-live, the priority is to stabilise the platform, embed robust operational ownership, support close and control activities, deliver agreed enhancements, and prepare for future modules and deployments.

This is a senior, hands-on permanent role within the Finance Systems team. The role holder will act as FNZ Finance's internal D365 functional authority, owning functional design and configuration across core finance processes, leading issue resolution and continuous improvement, and ensuring that changes are controlled, documented, supportable and aligned to Finance requirements.

The position is not a general business analyst role. It requires a practitioner who can work directly in D365, translate finance requirements into sustainable solutions, challenge implementation-partner proposals, and take enduring accountability for platform health and business outcomes.

3. Key Responsibilities

D365 Functional Ownership

· Own the functional integrity of D365 Finance & Operations across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Expense Management, Project Accounting and Financial Reporting.

· Provide end-to-end functional leadership from requirement and design through configuration, testing, deployment, support and adoption.

· Act as the senior FNZ-side functional reference point for Finance Controllers, process owners, technology teams and delivery partners.

· Maintain solution design, configuration and process documentation so that knowledge remains within FNZ.

Platform Stabilisation and Support

· Lead functional triage and root-cause analysis for production issues, coordinating resolution through the agreed incident, problem and change processes.

· Support month-end and year-end close, reconciliations and resolution of finance-system issues without compromising financial control or data integrity.

· Own the functional backlog, prioritising defects, control gaps, user pain points and enhancements based on risk, value, urgency and capacity.

· Provide guidance, coaching and knowledge transfer to Finance Systems colleagues and business users.

Change, Release and Continuous Improvement

· Translate finance and regulatory requirements into clear solution options, functional specifications, acceptance criteria and test scenarios.

· Assess proposed changes for cross-module, integration, reporting, data and control impacts before approval.

· Partner with technical teams and vendors on configuration, integrations and extensions, ensuring solutions follow D365 standard capability wherever practical.

· Support release planning, regression testing, deployment readiness, post-release validation and benefits realisation.

Data, Integrations and Reporting

· Protect the integrity of finance master data, dimensions, opening balances, sub-ledger data and intercompany processing.

· Support D365 integrations including banking, payments, expense, tax, consolidation and downstream reporting platforms.

· Partner with Data and Reporting teams on D365 financial reporting, Power BI and Workiva outputs, ensuring consistent definitions and reconciliation to the ledger.

Controls, Audit and Governance

· Embed segregation of duties, access controls, change evidence, configuration governance and audit-ready documentation into day-to-day platform ownership.

· Support ITGC and financial-controls evidence, remediation activity and audit requests relating to D365.

· Operate within the Finance Systems governance framework, including demand intake, design authority, environment management, release control and capacity planning.

Future Roadmap and Team Leadership

· Provide functional leadership for future D365 capabilities such as Consolidation, advanced Treasury and Cash Management, Project Accounting and other agreed modules.

· Support future entity onboarding, acquisitions and migrations from legacy finance platforms into D365.

· Help shape the D365 roadmap and operating model, reducing avoidable external dependency and building a sustainable internal capability.

· Lead the D365 pillar through influence and subject-matter authority; line-management responsibilities may be added as the team develops.

4. Required Skills and Experience

Essential

· 10+ years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations / Dynamics AX functional experience, including significant responsibility for finance modules.

· Demonstrable experience delivering and supporting complex, multi-entity and multi-currency D365 implementations.

· Deep understanding of Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash processes, with strong knowledge of financial controls and close activities.

· Hands-on functional configuration capability across core D365 finance modules, including dimensions, posting profiles, workflows, intercompany and financial reporting.

· Experience of data migration and validation covering master data, general-ledger balances and sub-ledger open items.

· Experience of integrations, testing, cutover, hypercare, release management and production support.

· Ability to diagnose complex functional issues, evaluate trade-offs and drive decisions through to resolution.

· Strong written and verbal communication, with the credibility to work with senior Finance stakeholders, regional teams, auditors and external partners.

· Ability to work independently in a global environment while maintaining disciplined documentation, governance and knowledge sharing.

Preferred

· Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, MBA Finance or equivalent finance qualification.

· Experience in financial services, fintech, asset servicing or another regulated, multi-jurisdiction environment.

· Knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting and audit / ITGC control requirements.

· Experience with D365 Consolidation, Project Accounting, Treasury and Cash Management, Subscription Billing or Revenue Recognition.

· Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Workiva, Azure DevOps and finance-data integrations.

· Previous experience as a solution architect, functional lead, platform owner or capability lead.

5. Success Measures

· Stable and controlled D365 operations through month-end, year-end and business-critical processing.

· Clear ownership and timely resolution of functional incidents, problems and enhancement requests.

· High-quality functional designs, test evidence, release documentation and audit artefacts.

· Reduced reliance on external partners for routine functional decisions and platform knowledge.

· A prioritised improvement roadmap aligned to Finance outcomes, risk and available capacity.

· Effective partnership with Finance stakeholders and measurable improvement in user confidence and platform adoption.

6. Employment Terms and Ways of Working

· Permanent, full-time appointment into FNZ Technology (India) Private Limited [legal employing entity to be confirmed by HR].

· Direct reporting line to the Head of Finance Systems and full integration into the global Finance Systems team.

· Standard FNZ India employment terms, benefits, leave, probation and notice provisions apply, subject to HR confirmation.

· Appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, right-to-work verification and any role-specific screening.

· UK/EU hours overlap is expected for regular collaboration, with flexibility around critical close, release and incident periods.

· All work must comply with FNZ information-security, data-protection, acceptable-use, change-control and records-management requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
